This game is a true SHOCKER! :thumb:

ALL WEST TN FINAL!!!!

Two Great teams battling it out for the championship.

I think Melrose has too much talent overall, but its hard to go against Joe Jackson!!!!

I'm pulling for White Station even though I think Melrose will win, but the underdog has taken over in College Basketball this year so anything can happen!!!!

Shocker?!?!?! Everyone knows that the best basketball in the state comes from Memphis and that's been going on for decades!!! In last year's championship my Pharaohs lost (not on their own but due to the striped shirts) to the Spartans. Where have you been at??? I hope those refs don't take this one away from Melrose too! They outplayed them up to this point and don't need to get involved like they did Raleigh-Egypt last year. But, when White Station plays for the title they'll do anything to get them the ring.

Sarcasm! Did you not see the :?:? I have been watching Memphis and West TN ball for years... I already know! You don't need to take what I say so seriously! Everyone else knew I wasn't being serious with the shocker statement.

Oh, well, didn't see that as sarcasm, my bad then dude! You know how some country folks like to deny that we have the best basketball.

Rucker does have a broken ankle. So he is definitely out for the championship game. The rest of the guys will have to pick up the slack. 6'9"sophomore Darius Moore can be a big boost if he can give some quality minutes. The White Station Bigs really stepped up in the semi-finals. Melrose can't let them get off like that.

If Wilkerson is out, Melrose gets a little smaller but can replace him in the starting lineup with McAfee.

Each of the previous games these teams have played have had different identities. One thing for sure is that the guys will leave it all on the floor. I'm pulling for my golden Wildcats to circle the wagons and bring the gold ball back to Orange Mound!

Ok....

After having thought about Melrose's injury situation -- especially the one to its most IMPORTANT player, Rucker-- I'm still gonna have to pick Melrose to defeat White Station for the AAA State Championship.

I agree with you, OMW.

Melrose's depth will be just enough to enable them to sufficiently off-set the loss of its physical big man, Rucker. Coach JJ will definitely need to play the 6'-9" Sophomore extended minutes, however. While he may be "green" offensively, his mere presence in the post will help Melrose significantly on the boards and defensively. This is where Adonis' post game will have to be utilized more frequently, IMO.

Adjustments are guaranteed to be the order of the day, for Melrose.

As many of you know....all season long, I've maintained that Melrose was around 8 to 13 points or so better better than White Station (despite Melrose's historic collapse in its February 2nd loss to White Station). Well, my position was predicated upon a full-strength Melrose team.

Melrose will NOT be full strength tonight. While that's relatively good news for White Station, it still won't change the net result:

--------------------------------------

Melrose by 3 to 7 points over White Station.

I honestly don't know what to say. Without Rucker Melrose has a problem. U just hate it for the kid. He proved and got the respect he deserved as one of the best big men in Tn. To most coaches he is a Joey Dorsey type player. He is the most important player on this team as someone else. Stated. That being said the most important player tonight is Adonis Thomas. If u going to be the man he has to be the man. Hollimon got to shoot better. Hopefully Jones is in that zone. Dang what a nightmare situation. Let's go Golden Wildcats

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
