DC vs NS plus 3 umpires

I've always said that even in a loss, you should never blame the umpires for a few bad calls......I stand corrected. Tonight in Brighton, Dyer County beat Northside 11 to 3 in the first game forcing a 2nd game for the championship. Bottom of the 8th score is tied at 5, DC has bases loaded, two outs and the batter hits the ball to left center scoring 2 runners and DC begins to celebrate after the 1st runner comes across home plate. The home plate umpire calls the batter out because he says he stepped out of the box and we have to go to a 9th inning. NS gets 2 runs....DC doesn't score; therefore DC takes 2nd and NS gets 1st. It is KNOWN first of all that all 3 umpires are from Jackson; second of all there are NO visible lines showing where the box is! How in the WORLD can this umpire call this? There is NO WAY he actually saw his foot step out of that box. Plus....isn't there such a thing as a swinging bunt? Is it not the same as in softball with a slap bunt? TALK ABOUT BEING BLINDSIDED!!!! I am currently working on the video and will paste the link soon!

HMMM INTERESTING. Any clarification on how he was out of the box yet? Only thing i can tell if he touched the plate in which he wasen't . Not all 3 umpires can be from the Jackson area. I have been told they are from West Tn like Memphis, Jackson, Dyer co , tipton county. Looks like this right now for Monday.

Bartlett vs Dyer Co. - If Bartlett beats Arlington tommorow for the Championship at 5 at Arlington

But Arlington has to beat Bartlett twice.

Ok so here it is 1:30 and I still can't get the image out of my head of the look on those young men's (DC players) faces after the call. The TSSAA should be ashamed that they allow this type of thing to happen. The call itself was ridiculous to start with, but in the bottom of the eighth inning with two outs in the district championship game. No, I do not have a kid playing for Dyer County so I'm not a disgruntled parent trying to make excuses, but I promise you this, there will be alot more made of this than some want there to be and it will start tomorrow in the press if you know what I mean. This crew should never be allowed to call another game. I don't care if it's T-ball, to do this to a group of kids for whatever reason is bull....If I was Preston Ozment I would mail the runner-up plaque back to the TSSAA with a note saying no thanks.

Not for sure where these clowns came from but i can guarantee you the circus wouldnt even want them back if they are as bad there as they were on the field calling theirselves so called umps. This was one of the worst calls i have ever seen. D.C. had already played N.S. one whole complete 7 inning ballgame, winniing that one forcing them to play another for the championship,in the 8th inning D.C. had the game won,the winning run had already crossed the plate, the choctaws was already celebrating when the home plate umpire jumps out all of sudden hollering he stepped out of the batters box, batters out. In 2 games,15 innings,no batter box,and 2 ballteams and D.C. had the winning run cross the plate, the ump finally decides to call someone out for stepping out of a box that was not even there. Sounds like it was already decided who was meant to win that game whether there was a payoff, a free bus ride(SHORT BUS AT THAT) back to where they came from or what, that was wrong!TSSAA will surely hear about this from plenty of people.TBCA was there, had no kid playing, and argued the call and got escorted out, even he knew we got screwed.Anyone can take a lose, but not when it is clearly stripped from you.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
