Just read had 26 apply an narrow it down to 9 already. it in the county paper the ? is how good are the 9 and how good are they. hopefully some are from East an West TN where the power house teams are.

 

 

It will be a good hire. As unstable as the school system has been, I think the high school will gain a lot of stability with the hire of Keith Stacey as principal. The problem with the last two principals was that they were from out of town. With stability, this can become one of the more attractive jobs in middle Tennessee.

26 applications is much more than I would have expected at this point. Does anyone have any info on any of the interested candidates?

 

Word from the hollar Big Country is the breakdown goes something like this.

 

6 are current players parents. 12 are old former players looking to relive the glory days. 2 are the bus drivers that gained coaching experience listening to the coaches traveling to & from the games. 4 are currently unemployed due to company layoffs who applied for a job opening. They didn't actually read the whole article to see what the job was. 1 is a soccer coach from Spain that actually thought they were talking about a large round white ball with spots. The last one dropped out when he actually traveled to Marshall County and took a look in first person. Smart guy that one was :)

If by MCHS, you mean Marshall Co. High School then I don't think this is true. As far as I know, the search is still ongoing.

 

 

That system is a joke. How many administrators have been through there in the last 5 years? Coaches? etc.. They at least got it right with Stacey as the Principal. However, the Glory Days are past MCHS until the whole system is overhauled. Every coaching position used to be a premium job across the state. Not anymore...it's like watching the Tiger Woods saga. What happens next???

Hopefully this football hire will get the program headed in the right track. The hire of Jason Tigert has returned the basketball program to near the top of AA. With the right hire, there's no reason the football program shouldn't be up there. A coach must be found that wants to be at Marshall Co, not someone who is looking at another job. Stacey as principal fits that mold. Now it's time to find a football coach who fits.
