Maybe chnage in defensive/offensive schemes? Put bigger men on defensive line...quicker men on offensive line? Change defense? Dump the single wing?

Deff bigger line, if i know one thing is for certain, defense wins you hardly ever get lucky. Pressure the qb more i remeber watching Hillsboro last year besides the front 4 or 3 sometimes they hardly got to our qb when he dropped back.

D line is very small this year..scheme is built on quickness but doesn't help again pwoer running teams and pressure only comes from one D end. Have some begger guys..just won't play them?

Walter Fisher, Joe Sanders, Alvin Fite, Tim Gray, Marcellus Tibbs, Calvin Bryant....

Um, I think you forgot Chris Russell, John Henry, Brad Doss, and Brian Price. LOL

Of course, there will always be quality athletes in some capacity at HHS. For example, Alex Crutcher, Eric Gordon, and Corey Jordan were as good of athletes as anyone ever at HHS and they were on the 2008 team. The key is coaching up the talent you've got. The lines the last 2-3 years have been playing with their backs against the wall, when it comes to size.

I personally think HHS has a long road ahead of them on the gridiron, and despite what the opposing fans say, it hardly has to do with the depth of District 11-AAA. ALL the HHS football teams from 2000-2003 or 2005-2008 would have had no problem competing and likely winning their fair share in District 11-AAA.

For several years many Hillsboro fans trashed the other Metro schools. Hillsboro fans would talk of dominance while other people said the cycle is coming back around. Well the cycle is back around. How does it feel when the tables have turned and now you all are searching for answers on how to just be competitive. I like the school and the coaches but some of your fans are getting a taste of their own medicine.

Good players make good coaches.

Some coaches stubbornly stick with schemes they don't have the righ players to run them with. Hillsboro has good atheletes. Every program cycles up and down...as far as rprevious fans trash talking Metro schools...can't resspond to that..glad to see some other schools in the county doing well..its good for the whole system.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
