Recommended Posts

Frayser 0-1 @ Arlington 0-1 Frayser is coming off a lost to Covington , meanwhile Arlington is coming off a terrible loss to Overton. I think Arlington bounces back in this one.

Brighton 1-0 @ Bartlett 1-0 Brighton beat Raleigh Egypt 56-6. Bartlett beat there rival Bolton 27-7. I really don't know who to choose in this one but i will go with Bartlett .

Germantown 0-0 @ CBHS 1-0. CBHS is coming off a good win over Melrose last week. Germantown was off. I think this game will be a close game all game long. But i have Germantown in a close one.

Bolton 0-1 @ Houston 0-1 Bolton lost to Bartlett 27-7. Houston lost to Trezevant. I think Houston wins this game at home.

Fayette Academy 0-0 @ St.Benedict 1-0 Fayette Academy was off last week and St. Benedict beat Harding 21-0. Fayette Academy beat St. Benedict last season . I will go with Fayette Academy in a close game.

Ridgeway @ White Station- White Station lost to Briarcrest last week, Ridgeway was off. I got to go with Ridgeway here.

Post some more games in the Memphis area that might be worth talking about also. Good luck to everyone this week.

OK folks ... Big Gams in Memphis, Week 1, will be done under this topic, since BARTLETGRAD04 has already started this. I am going to add some games however.

Whitehaven @ Fairley (J.P. Freeman)

Central @ Collierville

Melrose @ Madison Central

Millington @ Olive Branch (Opps ... this is a figment of your imagination!)

OK ... here are my picks.

Arlington better beat Frayser or it's going to be a looooooooong season.

Bartlet grounds out Brighton .... 21-14.

CBHS in a nail biter over Germantown .... 17-14.

Both Bolton and Houston are looking weak this year ... Houston wins ... 21 - 7.

FACS over SBCS ... 21-14. (I know NOTHING about either)

White Station beats Ridgeway ... 28 - 21.

Whitehaven beats Fairley .... 31 - 14.

Central beats Collierville ... 21-14.

Melrose beats Mad. Central ... 20-14.

Sorry about the OB and Millington mix-up.

That's it for me.

Over the years, we have grown accustomed to KWC initiating this topic. But hey, thanks for getting us started. We need to have more of us on CoachT talking about and supporting Memphis and Shelby County (and surrounding area) football. I am quite sure the KWC will get us going in a timely manner next week.

My picks are as follows:

Arlington over Frayser, by 6 or more;

Bartlett over Brighton;

Germantown over CBHS;

Houston over Bolton;

SBCS over FACS;

Ridgeway over White Station, I am calling the upset;

Whitehaven over Fairley, by 21 or more;

Collierville over Central, in a close one;

Madison Central over Melrose, by 10 or more;

Olive Branch over Millington, by 10 or more.

--------------------------------------------

"Mercy-Rule" alert... Madison Central (MS) by 28 points over Melrose!

Melrose will get completely embarrassed and likely suffer one of the worst defeats in its (proud) football history! If this does indeed occur, then Head Coach Alexander had better quickly start getting his retirement papers together...quick,fast and in a seriously big hurry!!! The diehard Orange Mound Community will SCREAM bloody murder and DEMAND that he gets FIRED as Head Coach!

BA by 24 over Southwind

------------------------------------------

I for got about Whitehaven - Fairley game: Whitehaven by 20 pts.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
