Greenback is a very good team with a lot of speed.. they have a very good chance of going undefeated this season and going deep in the playoffs.

they have played 3 teams who each have 2 wins a piece...and 2 teams who have not even won a game....way overrated....there are probably atleast a dozen teams in the west alone that are better than greenback.....they play a terribly weak schedule....they will go to the playoffs but that is just because of a weak region.....and if by some miracle they get through the east(where there are probably atleast another half a dozen better teams than them), they will get blown out in the bluecross bowl......there are my thoughts on greenback....remember you asked for it

Does anyone think Coalfield or Midway has a shot at beating Greenback? Coalfield returns most of their starters and I believe they are 5-0. Midway is 4-1 only losing to Rockwood. They knocked off a good Davidson Academy team Fri. Thoughts on this?

Greenback has been up by atleast 40 points a game every game by the half. The JV is playing more than the varsity in every game and maybe we aint playin nobody but when your beatin people by 50 points a game you gotta be good no matter who your playin. The score could have easily 80-0 in every game and worse in others if we were not such nice guys. DCA got enough of us when we got beat them by 4 or 5 touchdowns in the spring! You come down to Greenback one Friday night and have the privilige of watching us play

This should be Greenback's year in Region 2A, but Midway and/or Coalfield could both get them. Midway is young and they don't have the Cherokee's weapons, but they lay it on the line each week. Coalfield is really dangerous. They have some real weapons on offense with Lowe throwing and Norman running. Again, Greenback is the favorite, but it's not going to as easy as they think. It reaaly doesn't matter because the road for all Region 2A teams will end whenever they play Cloudland either on the road or at home.

about midway.....since when has davidson become good???.....

and just because you beat a team by a bunch does not at all mean that you are good.every team that greenback has played has taken a severe beating from a couple other teams.....does that mean those other teams are good too......not necessarily....it probably means the teams you are playing are just that bad. play south pitt or cloudland and ill even say play boyd, or come over to west tn and play a couple of good teams.

We've really only played the weaker of the region opponents. CAK and Oakdale. Can we please have Cloudland's schedule? I'd love to play North Greene and what, Jellico? Oh yeah, we already destroyed them earlier in the year, 41 - 14 (with the 2nd/3rds playing pretty much all of the second half). I have a feeling the Midway and Coalfield games will show how UNDERRATED we are, if anything.

 

 

Oh, and underwood, are you from Marion Co.?

Have you seen Greenback play, by any chance? Going by strength of schedule is okay, but you'll end up looking really stupid by the time the season is over if they do exceptionally well (highly likely). Every team Midway/Coalfield has played, Greenback has beaten them just as bad. Sequoyah suffered their worst loss of the season playing Greenback, and whilst their not the best 3A team out there, they've played the likes of Grundy, Tellico, and Loudon.

Greenback should win Region 2-A, but that doesn't necessarily say a lot this year. The big test will come in the play-offs against Cloudland. That will be the game that the Cherokees get their respect. Maybe that's not right, but that's just the way it is. Greenback could be 12-0 and everybody will still talk about a weak schedule. The Cherokees will have to beat the Highlanders or everybody will simply say they were overated. It's kind of like basketball when the Cherokees had a good record until they hit the postseason and played good competition.
