CAK @ Scott Co.

The Warriors travel to Scott Co. for the first time in football. Been there several times with the round ballers and it is a tough place to play. Scott has a very good, athletic & scrappy QB and they like to spread things out and wing it. Big challenge for the Warrior defense to limit the damage while the CAK offense inflicts its own. What are your thoughts?

I think if the defense plays like they did this past Friday it will be a long night for the Scott Co offense, the d saw a offense Friday in the first drive they didn't expect but they caught on to it. The usual 12 to 13 players that play defense for the Warriors needs to play like they did Friday, 75 67 71 39 and 78 looked much better and the backers and d backs did as well, and the offense was on fire as well. I think the d pretty much plays the same way next Friday as they did this past Friday, hopefully they can sit down in the second half again and let the younger guys get some valuable experience. Go Warriors, and good job against the Chiefs, now lets put it together for Scott Co. and get #7.

Happy to see the D get things back together. But (this is the old coach coming out in me) they will face a much better offense in Scott. They have a legit QB and a spread offensive set. They will run some zone read and like the short passing game with the bubble screen being a favorite. The QB #10 reminds me of #6 at Loudon. This is an offense that I expect us to give up some yards and points to, but that ok so long as it is limited. A couple picks would be nice. One key I believe is getting pressure on the QB. Offensively we should be able to score, but once again, their D is better than what we saw this past week. This should be a good test for the Warriors, especially the D.

The QB for Scott throws the ball than the QB for Loudon & is a little bit more athletic. CAK's D will be facing a better offense this week. This game will be won in the trenches.... CAK's O-line has played well so far this season & the D-line although.... did play OK last friday (against a poor offense) have been inconsistent...can't stop the run & poor tackling. The battle at the LOS is important.....CAK-35 Scott-21

I belive our D will come out HUNGRY :hungry: and will shutdown Scott's O!

Having seen both teams already, I don't see CAK shutting down this offense at all. Against Alcoa, Scott moved the ball pretty well between the 20's, but could not cash anything in. They run a lot of screens and short routes which makes getting to the QB almost impossible and they have some athletes.

The one thing that people keep forgetting about Scott is that they came from a pretty tough district before they came here. Playing against Fulton, A-E and Catholic has made them pretty much unafraid of anyone.

CAK still wins fairly comfortably, but the game is gonna stay close for a while.

A long while since the game is gonna last until Saturday.

APB, I think this is a fair assessment. But I'm hopefull that our D is getting back on track. We'll find out Friday because Scott will put some pressure on us.

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
