Jackson County has a great chance to go into Monterey and beat the wildcats at their home field like they did JC one year ago. I think the most physical team will when. If JC comes to play and plays with heart and fight the wildcats will be in for a long night. Thats always been a big ? for JC. I know the coaches are trying to prove to their players that you have to fight, compete, have heart no matter the team or outcome. JC wins this one by a final of 21 to 28. This game is huge for both teams and will be full of fireworks. So everyone come out and watch these two teams play. Good luck to both teams and hope there wont be any injuries. Go JC :thumb:

Greets all. Love coacht but seldom post. Thought I would tonight. Enjoyed an evening of good football. Great football weather, friendly Monterey folks in the concession and Monterey fans who really made the JC band and fans feel welcome. Good football. Not a bad game either :) Tied at 7..14..21.. competitive to the end. Gotta give props to the quarterback for Monterey. #9 was Mr. Versatility. Doing everything from QB to PR. Took a few good shots but always got up and made plays. His teammates played good tuff football too. Fun to watch the Monterey running game. On the other side j.godwin put in an excellent performance on both sides of the ball. In my opinion his play in the 4th finally turned the game for JC. Props as well to the JC Defense and the boys in the trenches. David vs Goliath matchups are part of the game.. but every once in a while a David vs David game makes for great football.

MONTEREY- The Jackson County Blue Devils got a huge win on the road against a good football team by beating Monterey 36-21. It was a great night for football and an entertaining game. The game seesawed back and forth with Monterey going up 7-0 then with the Jackson County score it was 7-6 Wildcats, then 14-7 Jackson County before settling at 14-14 at the end of the half. In the second half Monterey went up 21-14 and had the ball when the momentum turned in favor of the Blue Devils. Two long scoring passes from Jeret Goad to Jordan Godwin and a solid defensive effort sealed the deal. The Blue Devils had 401 yards in total offense.

Some Jackson County stats for the night:

Jordan Godwin- 5 catches 212 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had 8 tackles and 2 for loss.

Ethan Kirby- 4 catches for 78 yards and an interception and 8 tackles to his credit on defense.

Jeret Goad- Completed 12 of 21 passes for 303 and 3 touchdowns with only 1 interception.

Blake Bowman - 4 carries for 56 yards and touchdown.

Jacob Henson- Freshman linebacker making his first start had 9 tackles to lead the team.

What a great game. JC made the big plays down the stretch. The 4th and 1 stop was huge. The JC defense, although allowing Monterey to move the ball at times with, made big plays (fumble recovery, Int). They were able to adjust as the game went. Finally played a physical ballgame. #24 is having a great year, especially on defense. JC is also playing several young kids. #14, probably the smallest kid on the field, made several plays.

Monterey did keep JC in the game in the first half with several penalties. Hope #6 on JC is recovering.
