They will not be playing Hampton in the 1st round, Hampton will have a bye.

Think Wartburg has the other bye, its going to be hard to determine anything until they release the brackets on Saturday.

sorry but that changed this year. All first or second gurantees you is a playoff slot. Then once everyone is qualified they slice up the state into quads, and seeding is done by overall record. You get no special slot for winnig a district.

 

Thanks, I went and checked after making that post and you are correct. Definitely doesn't pay to put good competition on your non - district schedule anymore. Really stinks that the TSSAA decided to reward folks for scheduling cream puffs. The Jo Byrns, South Pitt, Davidson Academy, Mt Pleasant games that Cascade scheduled sped up their rebuilding process but now they'll be punished for it. Strength of schedule combined with District championship should of given them a first round bye.
