well finally we agree...middle does have great programs...certainly head and shoulders above everyone else in the state for at least the last 20 years!

**most of the time other teams are insignificant to the process because the middle teams are just so much better and dominant it just does not matter...but even a blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time and so even a west TN team finds a champion from time to time (i think 2 times in 20 years)

**o yeah...the system is skewed toward the middle...it has allowed MTN to dominate for the last 20 years...may the skewed system be with us still more and more!

have a blessed day!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Here we go with the middle TN booster club. Squirrel..really..that tired analogy? A blessed day...how can you, in the same post be so arrogant and dismissive...is this a blessing too you. What a contrast? Wait, wait, I will save you the "because I typed it post". Whatever. The system is skewed to the advantage of the middle. Any reseasonable person can admit that. This not the only reason, and certainly NOT the biggest reason, but a contributing factor to the title streak. Why is it so hard for middle TN fans to admit?

Again this why I say it is skewed:

1)The most schools are in middle TN.

2)50%+ of the teams in the playoffs

3)Middle in the East and West bracket(old system) and in 2 of 4 quads (new system)

4)East has to eliminate to 1 to advance to semis in both systems

5)West has to eliminate to 1 to advance to semis in both systems

As I posted a hundred posts ago, it is amazing the middle hasn't won them all, because on top of this advantage, they have great programs

Oh well, I tried. No one can contradict any of the middle TN posters on this website, it is really a shame too. I think all of us would enjoy good objective football conversation, without all of the "hype and cuts". Reading this board, will give you a good indication as to why good sportsmanship is a constant battle in youth sports. Good luck to you.

Ok, im gonna resolve all ur issues right here.

First, computer rankings mean nothing and i do respect Oakland, Smyrna, and Blackman as a Bruin fan myself.

but when it comes to the playoffs every team is 0-0 screw district championships and undefeated seasons, it is all about who shows up. and no team can b over looked (except coffee co) becuz of ranking.

and as far as the teams to talk about fot the title they r: Smyrna, Blackman, Oakland, Maryville, Brentwood, Franklin, and some potential upsets could come from Mt. Juliet or McGavock

just like maryville did last year right? they played no one if quad 3 doesnt take it then the whole thing would b a fluke

Maryville , with perhaps their weakest team in a decade at least played for the State Championship last year .... I don't recall seeing any teams from middle Tennessee there though .

You are a funny guy. Most of the Ap votes are where? Do all these people see every team play? For that matter do they even see the teams they put in the top10 play? Rankings are a joke. I don't know about this "unnamed" website, but most of this is done by hype (recruits and history). The point being NONE, NONE...I say again NONE of this is anything more than opinion. More like a popularity contest, and since the majority of the population lives in the middle...there you go. Why do you think the middle has more state titles, I mean 2x as many teams, 2 quads...common on. I see nothing factual, just a bunch of subjective greatness, if not for one then for another...and it just goes on, on, you know it. And yeah it is funny :roflol:

ok how bout this one....since 06...Smyrna, 07 Smyrna, 08 Oakland,- out of the last 4 championships...3 have been rutherford county..has nothing to do with the fact middel has 2 quads :thumb:

"Randy"

Last time. "Roulette". Have you played? Do you think that streaks of 33 out of 46 "black vs. red is rare"? Ask a roulette dealer, it happens all the time. However, in a "LARGE" sampling it evens out. 46 times is not a large sampling, give it up.

Nope, I am a math teacher, I do my gambling at the poker table, where it's my skill vs. someone else's and no house advantage. Anyway, I am sure most roulette dealers would tell you they have never seen it happen. It should happen 1 in 1000 times, that's 46,000 spins of the wheel. And for your lottery comparison, people win the lottery, but lots more than 46 people play it. If 46 people played the lottery, i would say it would be decades or more before anyone hit the jackpot.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
