Grundy county at Pearl Cohn

Grundy led 13-12 at the half and was in this one a lot longer than the experts thought. There was great sportsmanship in this game and after the game when the teams came together and prayed in the middle of the field. Lots of handshakes and hugs and a whole lot of class.

I wish nothing but the best of luck to Pearl-Cohn the rest of the way even if they are playing my friends at Smith County next week. The Firebirds are nothing but class.

DL.

That...they are. We played them last year...and I was impressed with their sportsmanship. I expect no less from them this Friday also...win or lose.

Grundy County's kids played hard and their coaches are outstanding men who got the most out of what they had. Also on a side note, I did like the "camo" pants that the Grundy County coaching staff sported last night.

When the Metro officers asked if we had anything insulated that wasn't camo one of our fans said..."It's muzzleloader season in the morning. We can go home, take a nap and then head to the woods." The officer just shook his head.

Got to love that Mountain living!

    • I havent kept up with Keeton since he went to Oakland, so hearing he is in a BOE role now, that may trump him coming back.  Rennard on the other hand. That dude is a Man Builder! And he was cut loose this spring from Scotts Hill. Heard him in a interview a few months back and he inspired me. He needs to be back home in the Purple & Gold, regardless of if he is HC or not or even if he doesnt coach at all, his presences will improve the environment. But Again, I have no clue if he would even be interested.
    • biggest....just saying he is good at what he does. I may or may not have already floated this out his way.   He is a good guy!
    • Shoulders from Macon co.  A creasy protege. Has the best coached team in the area as of late. Not much shot to win a state title at Macon but could very well be a contender with the talent coming up through the peewee and junior high ranks in TC I hear. He my dark horse candidate. trousdale co fans could also brag to their neighbors that they talked their best coach into coming to TC on a year of such high expectations at Macon co.
