rgossett14
Houston came out a little tentative. For about the first ten minutes, they weren't able to possess and went the "kickball" route. #5 and #15 for Franklin looked like they were going to wreak havoc all day. They got through the Houston defense and got a shot off 30 seconds in. They were the reason for Franklin's game-opening goal. Houston getting the PK for their first goal was all they needed. Totally different team when they were confident. #25 was unstoppable. It seemed there was a chance on goal every time she touched the ball. The fact that she got a hat trick in the first half was awesome. That she did it on a bum ankle on her dominant foot...downright inspiring. With every goal, Franklin got more frustrated and really never posed a threat. Fairly dominating performance. Well deserved win and champion. CHAMPDDS
Very surprised (as I am sure many others are as well) at such a huge goal differential in a state championship game...Curious what the record is for the score spread in any girls soccer championship game ? WTGHSSR
Is that another name for Houston? Sometimes Houston is listed as "Germantown - Houston High School", but there is a "Germantown High School" as well, so usually everyone drops the "Germantown" when referring to "Houston High School" to avoid just this type of confusion. For those that do go way back you may be familiar with who the Ridgeway coach was at that time.....and the 11-2 score won't be a surprise. d2asoccer
OJ from Oakridge (formerly)? Spurrier was close and Mr Sheppard is a good guess too. Houston's current Coach Wolf was the Ridgeway coach that rang up 11 on CAK.
