AE beat GP 14-7 and Elizabethton played AE very close. The coaching and discipline was a big factor in Elizabethton win. Elizabethton will not have that advantage against GP. Their coach has been there for about 100 years. AE was able to run on one side of the Elizabethton Defense all night, and Elizabethton needs to fix that problem and run more outside, AE had big players in the middle and stuffed us all night. I have faith Coach Witten will take care of that. Elizabethton will get to see Alcoa in a few weeks.

Elizabethton 21

GP 14

Coaching was a big factor in Elizabethton beating Austin-East??

It was good to see Elizabethton's passing game come around tonight, we dropped a couple of balls and did not get a lot of yards after catch but there were some good timing paterns and Berry was on the money except when he was scrambling and tried to force it in and was picked off a couple of times. He needs to tuck and run those or throw it away. They have to get the outside running game going. Thank God the night was injury free. :popcorneater:

The passing game came around, but the offense only scored one touchdown... it must not have been that good.

Can't wait for the game. I'm expecting a slugfest. Hope to see a good crowd from Betsy. I know of few better places in East Tennessee to watch a game than the Mountain Thicket, but I am a little biased.

For a great experience, I would suggest getting to Gatlinburg early to eat at Best Italian in Elks Plaza on the upper end of the strip or at Parton's Deli on 321 coming into town across from the Rocky Waters Inn (bring cash, Henry doesn't take plastic lol!).

Safe travels for all coming our way. Hopefully classes will allow me to to do a little research and provide a more in depth analysis later this week.

Don't be sending people to Best Italian! Thats where I'm going for pre-game (if the wife gets off work in time, don't want to be late for the game) Good luck to G-P! I'm not a huge fan being a Smoky Bear alum, but I would rather see the East Hades Red Devils win than any Carter Co. team other than Cloudland. No offense to the Cyclones, just not a huge fan of a certain school(s) up there. Any way, I'm gonna say Highlanders in a close one, lets say 24-17. :thumb:

In your opinion, CP, who is the toughest team Greeneville has beat this year. Please, please don't say Betsy!!!! :roflol::roflol: 4A is weak this year!! :thumb:

I'm not CP, but being from Greeneville I will say Fulton. As for the season, probably Sullivan South, eventhough I think Tennessee High is a better team, Greeneville just pounded the Vikings in a statement game.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
