Looks like district may be up for grabs this year..Dont see any really dominant team

as there was last few years.Waverly and Mc as well as Harpeth are probably the

front-runners as of now. Stewart co. may have a real shot to make some noise too..

Creek Wood lost all starters from a year ago,so they will probably be way down.Camden

lost most of there scoring from last year,so they may be re-building also.Cheatham

should finish in the middle of pack somewhere.Should be a very competitive year.Good

luck to all

Great post. I think that all of these teams are pretty equally matched this year...it should be exciting to watch!

GO CUBS!!!! Big game tonight vs Greenbrier. The Cubs are 0-3 so far on the season with losses to FRA, Kenwood, and Houston County. The next week features games against Greenbrier (tonight), East Hickman (Thursday), Rossview (Friday), and White House (next Tuesday).

Those are all opportunities for improvement prior to the District 11-AA opener next Friday night at Camden Central :thumb:

saw SC play, saw MC play, saw CC play. MC is the best of these 3.

i have seen waverly, creekwood, harpeth and MC play harpeth's defense is something to watch for. creekwood has a big man inside with post moves and a shooter who can hit a number of 3s anytime. waverly doesnt really have much they have an athletic black guard and a big man who is quite slow. montgomery central is undefeated they have depth in every position they are big inside and a point guard who is averaging over 20 a game...... just a couple of things ive seen! :thumb: anybody heard anything about the other 3?

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
