I have watched Shelby Dawson pitch since she was 10 along with about 20 other top pitchers in the state.I would have to agree about the creekwood bunch they wouldnt trade her for any other pitcher. These girls play together and that is that.As far as top 5,well top 10 is more like it,but with the great pitchers in this state thats great.Shelby has a good future if she wants it.Credit is not needed any girl that steps on the mound and puts the work in to pitch 10 or more games week end week out is doing her job.Shelby is tough and strong can keep going, thats what hard work year after year will get you.I dont get to see many games she pitches but its always a joy.

Since she was probably born in 93 or 94 which would make me about 9 or 10 it would be kind of hard for me to be her "mommy or daddy".

Sounds like my Great Niece, started pitching whe she was 7 or 8 I think, always had the heart & great ability for the pitching gig! Best wishes, don't let the idiot's get to you if it's not so, just smile and let them be jealous! :thumb:

Kinda suprised you thought Brighton's pitcher was the best there?? Since I heard that Brighton Lost to Trinity. Maybe I had bad info & you can clarify for us, since you were there?

Since you mentioned Brighton and we're talking about pitchers...Brighton lost to St. Benedict twice this year. Mackenzie Haney from St. Benedict pitched both games. The first one was a shut-out. Here's the article on that game...

St.Benedict also beat Trinity this year. Mackenzie pitched that game as well.

Looking forward to Anna Renfroe taking her team to state again. Another DI pitcher. We will miss her on third, though. Can't wait to see her in action. Watch out for Tori Hensley in Camden. She is awesome!

Renfroe a pretty good high school pitcher but she is not a pitcher. Great infielder. Don't believe you will see her in the circle much.

Barbee is very good. I was very impressed at the Commando Tournament with her. I still think that Skeeter at Soddy is as tough as they come. As far as moving the ball and hitting her spots,Sidney at Walker Valley has done a great job against some good teams also.

Congrats to Walker Valley's Sidney Hooper on being Chattanooga's "Best of Preps PLAYER of the YEAR"

    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
    • Dorian Eskridge had a great Junior year, highlighted by a great game to lead HVA to an upset win at OR that year. I think that was 2010. In 2011 OR won at HVA. OR had a real good QB that year l think. Dorian Eskridge had a great senior year also. He always played hard from the DCM videos l saw.
    • It seems we lost a ton to graduation. We shall see how it shapes up for 2024.
