1994-1997 Trousdale *1997 = greatest single A team ever in TN. (let the debate begin)

The 2005 team was awesome & put on a great show. The 1997 team was/is in a class by itself.

I remember being an 8th grader and going to the state title games that weekend with my folks and watching the games. The teams that were at Vandy that year were monsters.

Here is a funny list of sidenotes that made the 1997 title games similar to the 2007 title games that would follow 10 YEARS LATER:

1A: Trousdale County. Eavitts (hope that is how it's spelled) was a beast. I think he went on to play at Tennessee Tech. Clarksville Academy that year had a dream run but they could have lost by 100 to Trousdale had Satterfield not let off the gas. 10 years later in 2007???? South Pitt could have beaten McKenzie by 100!

3A: Melrose: White House won the game but I don't know how many times they could have beaten that Golden Wildcats squad had they played 100 times. I'd say 5 tops because Melrose had some ATHLETES!!!!! 10 years later??? David Lipscomb shocks a Fulton team that was loaded with ATHLETES!!!!!

4A: Pearl-Cohn: Maryville is a great football program but that year they fell to a PC team that featured John Henderson, Albert Washington, Reggie Ridley, Tyrese Lawless, and Joey Martin and all were 6'3+ and 270+ linemen who went on to play college football at the D-I level. Santonio Beard was a great player at tailback as well. 10 YEARS LATER????? Maryville plays another Metro/Nashville school in the state title game in Maplewood.

5A: Riverdale: Eric Locke was absolutely a joy to watch. I remember sitting there watching him give Munford fits. Isn't it funny that Rankin went to Alcoa 10 YEARS LATER and in 2007 he had a kid named Randall Cobb who looked like Locke's twin giving Goodpasture fits?????

1997 at Vandy and 2007 at MTSU did pose a lot of similarities :thumb:

The 2005 team would destroy the one from 1997.

The 2005 was a great football team without a doubt. They beat Livingston 14-12 early in the season who went on to when the 3a state championship. I enjoyed watching that team play even if they were beating us 92-0. When the 97 TC team played I was 11 years old and was just getting into football. From remembering what I did watch of them and from what i've been told I would go with the 97' TC team probably being not only the TC team, but probably the best A team ever.
