Trey McCoy and Josh Maze (AC)

Mobley and McPhetrich (Powell)

Ryan Francis (West)

Josh Mayes for sure. McCoy...big IF. IF he does, he'll have to do it on offense. Defense, unless he's greatly improved, can't figure out WHO to block. Hopefully he can work on this weakness and be ready to tear it up on defense! Go Mavs!

I'll add Ty Hayworth.OL - Dobyns-Bennett

If Ty has an All State year look out for Swafford at Runningback to rewrite the rushing records at DB. He's a natural runningback with great skills rushing and receiving. With the offense we run he will thrive at both aspects of the game. Also, if he continues to grow and get stronger with his speed, the recruiters will be swarming to J.Fred on Friday nights to see him. Can't wait for the season to start. Roll Tribe Roll!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumb:

I've seen many great players come through DB in the past 20 plus years. From Teddy Gaines, Mike Faulkerson, Deran Ferguson and Gerald Sensabaugh just to name a few. But, the two best i've ever seen at DB were Chris Sensabaugh who just graduated as the all time rushing leader for the Tribe and Lamon Williams who played wide receiver when Ferguson was the QB. Gary Rankin once stated after a semi-final game we lost to Riverdale 14-9, that Lamon Williams was the best wide receiver he had ever seen(while he was a sophomore) so i'm going to agree with Coach Rankin. Everybody knows he has the eye for the stars. And last but not least, the great Adonis Johnson(who was the rushing leader before Sensabaugh broke his record). Just ask the die hard Oak Ridge fans about this kid. He had one of the most unbelievable games i've ever seen against Oak Ridge at Oak Ridge. The night of the so called spy gate, when the Oak Ridge coaches had tapped our headsets and were listening in on our play calls. Yes, it happened. It was so obvious when we called a play to one side and then changed it in the huddle to the opposite side of the field. That one Wildcat player still has not found his jock strap yet. Anyway, Roll Tribe Roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :roflol:

Lamon is/was the best football player to ever play at Dobyns-Bennett.

That was my favorite DB game until the South game of 2009.Myself and several dads were having a great time and very proud of our boys.Chris had an awesome game, just a great game. Before it started however,Oak Ridge was so big that I was just hoping we could keep it close enough to pull out a win.I didn't know about the headset deal.

Swafford is so hard to get a good shot on.He just comes out from what you thought would be a sure tackle and keeps going.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
