Cheatham County travels to take on White House tonight. I know in recent year's Spencer's White House teams have always been long and played fundamental basketball. How does this year's team compare? Who is this years Gaines, Poindexter, etc. for the Blue Devils?

The Devils downed the Cubs in that one. The Seniors ( Dorris, Layman, Crouch, Thompson) are getting most of the playing time with soph. Alex Lyon starting at point. The Devils have shown their inexperience at times this year (East Lit. and Beech were both blow outs by more than 40 points) but they have played hard throughout. Soph. Ryan Sizemore comes off the bench regularly for them. After the height graduates this year, look for next year's team to be guard oriented. We got Gallatin tonight at our place. Should be interesting as we beat them earlier this year at their place.

Congrats to GB for pulling off a BIG win vs. Jo Byrns. :roflol::roflol::roflol:

It looks to me that GB is setting themselves up for failure once again this season by scheduleing single A teams and bottom of the pack AA teams while others in the district are being tested by East Lit, Livingston Academy, Kenwood, Station Camp, and other good programs. I strongly believe come time for district play this GB team will do the same thing as last year because they are not being challenged by good teams. The recored might look good at 5-1 but these are teams you SHOULD beat by 20 not 4. :ugeek:

I have seen Greenbrier (three times), Sycamore (twice), and White House (once..... and Friday night will be te second time) in person and I can tell you that Greenbrier is very capable of beating either Sycamore or White House.

I'll also have an opportunity to see Westmoreland in person at a Holiday Tournament in Watertown so I'll give you a gauge on them at a later date.

From what I saw:

Sycamore's best player is Waller. White House's best player is Layman. Greenbrier's best player is Peach. Of all three of those guys I'd say Peach is the best all around player and the only one who could go off for 22-25 points on a nightly basis.

any player is capable of going off for 25 if that player shoots 29 times.

Waller might be their best post player but he ain't their best player! You need to go see Sycamore some more cause you have not watched enough. Seen them for 2 years now and I can tell you that their best player is not Brett Waller. Don't get me wrong but to be the best player you have to want the ball all the time and he is passive on too many occasions. Jacob Dick is probably their best all around player- can shoot it, defend, rebound, has become a better handler, and can make some nice passes when so inclined.

Peach can go off for that many points but how many times is he gonna shoot it? 30-35 cause that is what it will take for him to score that many points unless the defense is pitiful.

I do belive i'll have to agree with you on all of that, but you are forgetting some key players for the 'ole bobcats. I've watched them play a few times and I am quite impressed. Connor Peach does indeed shoot a lot!!! I will have to say, he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn sometimes. Wood Bell.. Man can this guy get those boards. He may not have the heighth, but he gets up there. John Brown, this guy is fast as lightning.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
