Week Zero: Powell @ Rhea

Well, we're just 15 days until the Golden Eagles open up the 2011 season with Knox Powell. We are going into a new season with a new coaching staff. The Greene era is starting in Evensville.

 

How will things turn out? Will Rhea start off the season on a positive note? Anyone have any clue on starters? Any good info? Oh, how we all miss you, Mr. RheaCo.

Not trying to split hairs, but Powell is not "Knox Powell", never has been, never will be. While Powell is in Knox County, it is not in the City of Knoxville, it is in Powell, TN, 37849.

I believe Powell still has a bad taste in their mouth from the way their season ended last year. With the return of their qb, rb, and top 3 receivers from last years 11-1 team, I believe Powell comes out on fire to start the season.

I say Powell 35-14.

What was Rhea thinking scheduling this game for the start of a season. Powell returns almost everything from a team that should of won state last year. I believe they lost 3 starters from last year. Their RB and QB are beasts, and you will soon know it.

This will be a beat-down. Powell will be really good at the beginning of the season then fall apart like the underachieving baseball team did. Too many opinions, too many ego's. Too bad really, the voice of the Panthers is a class act!

Game will not be close. Rhea going to be OK when they get in the district. Powell is going to be very tough in 2011.

I think this will be a great game Rhea returns 14 starters back from last years team and a new staff putting kids in the right place Rhea by 7.

The boys in Rhea County are going to be up for the challenges from what I have seen at the practices I have attended. Very upbeat and look to be having fun. GO EAGLES!! Best of luck.

I think last year's playoff loss to Anderson County is going to be a big motivator for the Panthers. The run that Powell had in 2010 was a bit unexpected, so it will be interesting to see how this team handles a very different set of expectations. Powell wins this one, 38-14.

Powell is a bit nicked up with some injuries, but I don't think that will prevent the Panthers from winning. The talent, depth and experience that Powell brings into this game is a little too much for Rhea Co. to overcome IMHO. Good luck to both teams.
