Yeah, I just went to WECO's web page, and they're going to be at the Wartburg game.

I'm a Wartburg fan, but I think they missed the mark on this one. Wartburg will play hard enough I guess, but it's not a "do or die" game. Winning or losing doesn't really mean much to be honest. I would have preferred the OS/Oneida or Oakdale/Coalfield games.

The boys game on the other hand, should be a real doozie! lol

I'm not predicting any more games! lol

I just witnessed the district mvp miss 2 free throws with no time left on the clock, trailing by 1 point....Coalfield just upset Oakdale!

I might even be eating some crow, radio just said the OS/Oneida game has went to overtime!

Dang good night for some good ballin!

I just put my crow in the crockpot to cook allnite, You want some of mine or have you got your own. Oneida jumped out 21-12 by mid 2nd Quarter, then went cold. Went scoreless in the third and was trailing by 5 or 6 entering the 4th. Oneida tied it on a 3 with about 15 sec left to get to overtime. Oneida played the last part of the 4th and overtime without their starting post players who had fouled out. Big win tonite, now I have to worry about Coalfield and Hamby.

eh, I took mine raw and got it over with, didn't want to smell it all day! lol

Sounds like it was an emotional roller coaster, I bet you felt like your heart had been ripped out after that 3rd period! hahaha

Good luck with Coalfield, I hate to jinx you guys after my last picks, so I'm not gonna make a call on this game....(between you and me, I think your girls have this one!)

Raw crow, I've had that a few times!lol. As for the emotional coaster I did have a few mood swings here and there, but I only blacked out once. Oz had us, they had the lead, we couldn't score, our bigs were foul trouble, they had mojo on their side and decided to try and hold the ball with about 4 mins to go. Big mistake on their part, let us sneak back in and they couldn't get started again when they needed to. Oz will be back with a vegeance, count on it! I still cannot imagine how Coalfield beat Oakdale, would like to have seen that one. But it is District 4 and strange things do happen.

OS 52, Jellico 26

Oakdale 42, Sunbright 30

Oneida 46, Coalfield 36

and if you guys don't read this before tonights games, it can always be edited! lol

Hey 4aFan, i'm sure your a swell person, but please quit picking Oneida. Lol! Oneida had a 12 pt lead and Coalfield battled back and tied it with 30 sec left. Oneida got a layup and 2 free throws to win by 4. Geez, we really tried to give it away.

    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
    • No my fight, but ... if they were already college-caliber prior to transferring to BHS, and they already had FBS interest, and they end up at an FBS school, how did Bearden do anything for them?
