Wayne County outplayed and definitely outcoached CA tonight. Not sure WC is the number 1 team in state b/c CA certainly helped them with poor play (two blocked punts, three fumbles, and terrible play calling)... but WC is definitely a well coached good team. Congratulations on the well deserved win.

 

 

Perhaps Wayne Co blocked those punts, knocked the ball loose, and as for the "poor play calling" anyone can sit in the stands and say, "Ohh I knew that wasn't gunna work, what's coach thinking??" but the fact is, you've only got one chance. You call what you call and if it doesn't work, then the defense made a good play...

back handed compliment but we will take it and consider the source

 

the punts were blocked because the ca punter took forever to get a punt off

 

i agree you were out coached i still cant figure out why ca would come into a game aginst a team that runs it 90 to 95% of the time and play 7 in the box wc most of the time had 9 ca's safeties were 15 to 20 yds off ball i guess it took away any really long runs by wc but they avg. 6.5 yds per carry

 

ca was really quick , but could not handle wc running right at them wc was way to physical

      You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.

      He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.

      Dang I feel bad for the kid. I’m sure he loves his dad and wants to do anything for his dad but I don’t think he realizes his dad isn’t doing the best for his football career if he keeps jumping schools.

      I’m not taking shots at the kid, but “athlete” is not something I would use to describe him. He was a long, lengthy, defensive back
