WesVLT
My predictions have been poor so far this year, and since I haven't seen Baylor play, I'll refrain from making a pick. I do think this will be a close, well-played game. I'm looking forward to being there for a classic DII struggle!
bigred4life
I will be traveling to BA to cheer on Baylor. BA is as always are very good football team. Baylor is coming off several grueling weeks. If the Red Raiders plays like they did against Ensworth and the 1st half against McCallie then Baylor can win. I expect a very close game....and I will go with my heart and say Baylor by 3.

Just glad we're not playing either one of you guys as we would be sure to get another butt whip'in. I'll stick with the eastern team and go Baylor. My predictions this year have been poor also, this should be good news for BA. Edited September 28, 2011 by alcoanation
oldwiseone
It's very tough to win in this league week after week, especially on the road. But I will go out on a limb here, Baylor wins a thriller on a last second field goal by place-kicker phenom Henrique Ribeiro. Final score 30-28 Baylor. In what class is the kicker from Baylor (Ribeiro) and did he play goalie for the soccer team? He has a heck of a leg. That 52 yarder against McCallie looked as if it would have been good from 60. hawk1
Baylor's kicker is a senior. This is only his 2nd year of football and he only kicked off last year, no fieldgoals. He's a great weapon to have! Hopefully, colleges are hearing about him and he gets some interest.
mtnrasslin
He does play goalie as well. Edited September 28, 2011 by mtnrasslin

Best high school kicker I have seen. And he was the goalie in soccer and will be again this year.
shakinthefat
Now for the BA vs Baylor game. BA wins 35 to 14. I was not aware that Baylor has the kicker. I would like to adjust my prediction. BA 35 Baylor
MBARED
I was not aware that Baylor has the kicker. I would like to adjust my prediction. BA 35 Baylor 9 So because Baylor has a great kicker you go down on their score? Should be a great game. I think Baylor will pull it off. Baylor by 3....kicker wins it. shakinthefat
So because Baylor has a great kicker you go down on their score? Yes I did. If Baylor offense is 4th and short in scoring position, Coach Massey would rather put points on the board, so his stud kicker enters and kicks. He will get 3 field goals instead of 2 touchdowns. Simple math MBARED. Edited September 29, 2011 by shakinthefat

It's been intriguing to see the Tornadoes drop off this year, if you can call it that, considering the schedule they've played. Alcoa would still be able to compete in DII this year, but I'm not sure they'd be in the upper tier. I'm sure Coach Rankin will have those guys back in no time, and they're still my pick to win 3A. WesVLT
Okay, I can't resist making a prediction. I'll take BA, 24-20. I expect a fundamentally sound, intense game between two of the four teams I've labeled as DII-AA's top-tier teams (the others are Ensworth and MUS). The difference will be BA's mammoth defensive line. I think they'll force a key turnover or two that will turn the game. For those who are attending, listen for my dad -- he's the PA announcer! I'll be in the stands as a proud alum and proud son.
