Aggregated top ten - 3a

As far as I am aware, there are only 4 top ten polls/rankings out for 3A teams:

1. AP - 12 TN sportswriters

2. Sonny Moore (Computer rankings)

3. unapproved website (Computer rankings)

4. Donavan Stewart - 1 sportswriter

(If you know of others, let me know please).

Giving each team points from 1 -10 for how they fall in the order and then consolidating them produces the following:

1 (tie) Milan - 11 (average ranking 2.75)

1 (tie) CPA - 11 (2.75)

3 CAK - 13 (3.25)

4 (tie) Fairview - 21 (5.25)

4 (tie) Smith County - 21 (5.25)

6 Alcoa - 22 (5.5)

No other team was listed in all four polls/rankings although Pearl-Cohn and Austin-East were listed in 3 of the 4 and Goodpasture, Harpeth, and Sullivan North were listed in 2 of the 4.

What I find interesting is how widespread the aggregation is (i.e. not much consensus out there).

Thanks for doing this. IMO, Pearl Cohn should be in Top 6.

And again, IMO, barring injuries, CPA, although pretty good now, will be much better next year.

Ever watched a very fast car start at the back of the pack and come to the front? ;)

Everybody knows Alcoa is the favorite until someone knocks them off. At least this year there seems to be a chance that they are not unbeatable. Polls mean nothing other than a topic for discussion. Alcoa is still #1 until someone beats them.

I would have agreed about Pearl-Cohn until their poor performance last week against a struggling MBA team. Now I'm not so sure. The Maplewood - Pearl-Cohn game on Friday should tell us a lot.

If my numbers are right, I think CPA starts about 4-5 seniors and 10-11 juniors. Most of the juniors also started last year as sophomores.

Yes, even though a lot can change in the offseason, CPA has a great senior class next year with a lot of size. QB is a junior. Also, best athlete this year is a soph., and the starting RB is a Sr., but they have a dynamite freshman RB. Also, the Middle School team is undefeated and dominate this year, so some freshmen may be able to come in next year and help.

Need to focus back on this year, as we are looking pretty good, will get Wharton back for Maplewood and Pearl (he has missed two games). Need to beat Pearl to get homefield in the playoffs.

Cheatham County is not a Top 10 team however I saw the "youth" comments that have been made on here and wanted to post in regards to those.

At the present moment Cheatham County:

Offensively: starts 9 juniors and 2 sophomores.....there is only 1 senior who gets action offensively as a reserve and he has 55 rushing and 56 receiving yards through 6 games in limited action this year.

Defensively: starts 4 juniors, 4 sophomores, 1 freshman, and 2 seniors.....a linebacker who has 33 tackles and a fumble recovery and a cornerback who has 20 tackles and an interception in the team's first 6 games of the season.

NOTE: the senior cornerback also serves as the team's placekicker

There is plenty for us Cubs fans to be excited about for the next 2 and a half years to come when we look out on the field and see the guys who still have plenty more Friday nights wearing the Cardinal & White ahead of them.

I agree Pearl is inconsistent this year but we'll be OK...They have to put some games together now if u lose at this point Ur playoff chances will fade away. But we'll be fine and ready too make a run at the playoff... Edited by FIREBIRD80

    • The people need our help!
    • Lol when was last time they won region or got past the 3 rd round.
    • Gravedigger gotta finish filling the hole before hitting 40 East. May need a new Yellow Shirt play signaler on the Stones. And apparently a new strength coach now. Cicadas must've got shaken out of the bushes in Donelson. Hopefully the mower man sticks around to keep DG field looking pristine. Maybe new OC can call in a favor to his PGA friends that knows a thing or two about being green during the season. The heat is on soon. Bring in the 2 way freak Iceman and cool things off. He knows a thing or 2 about wildcats. Gotta take our talents South soon for Nationals. Don't step on my blue suede shoes.
