The "TEAM" did nothing wrong....so why ruin all these other kids senior year or underclassmen's hardwork just because a coach and/or coaches, parents, guardians etc screwed up big time!!

Price should be punished-as in sit out playoffs.,.along with the player.

SM should be given all their wins back and/or at least given a shot at another title, seed them last and all playoff games are away, but do not punish innocent kids and proud parents of that school(they did nothing wrong).Just my opinion.

Isn't this what you wrote? "Jumped by who? 6'4 and 250, are you serious? Kid should never had hardship ruling, should have went to Sale Creek or Ooltewah, or was he scared of those kids too?" Oh, I know this wasn't an attack, yeah right.

Was not in anyway an attack, simply making a point. All of the kids at Brainerd got a letter saying they could go to Ooltewah or Sale Creek, as far as I know both good schools. My point was this kid is a senior now at 6'4" 250 and he has to go to SM on a hardship. Maybe your right, I am stupid, but still not drinking the kool-aid.

The problem is, if the player is ruled ineligible then those wins aren’t legitimate. I’m sure they could have won most (if not all) of them without the player in question, but you can’t say that for sure. The TSSAA can’t give a team a win that uses an ineligible player. It wouldn’t be fair to the team they beat while playing the ineligible player. That goes for anyone, not just SM.

You all must just be plain stupid. He was a Freshman when he was at Brainerd so yes a Freshman could easily have been jumped by 5 guys. Plus this incident was supported by the Brainerd principle.

It’s amazing that grown people get pleasure out of coming on here and attacking this kid. I’m fair game feel free to come attack me. But getting some thrill out of attacking this kids story just shows what kind of people you are.

First of all he s not a kid!!!!!!!!!!!! He s 18 fixing to turn 19 SOON not 10 or 12 yrs old.........there s KIDS his age fighting a REAL WAR for us right now so get off the soap box, i dont blame you taking up for your school and supporting the coaches (which are full of it) but playing stupid and the sympathy card is getting is as low down as it gets!!!! SM isnt the only school doing it as we all know but ya ll are the one s that are gonna be the example for all.

Umm you need to go back a couple pages and read my posts thoroughly. I have plainly stated how shameful it is that ADULTS put their political bs ahead of the fact that the kids are the ones suffering here. Do i need to go back and quote my posts and explain?

your right the kids are suffering. one kid because coaching recurited him to the mnt.kid should not have listened to coaching staff. the others players for the coaches recurting. i said this many times there is enough tallent on the team with bringing players from out of zone / reciuts. parents of the home grown mnt boys should be outrage at the coach and adminstration for what has happen. when TSSAA confrims their ruling singal will have 6 win vacated. was it worth all the trouble to bring an out of zone player to the school???

I have to believe the lenght of the discussion runs in favor of SM. If it were a rubber stamp, I believe the decision would have been much quicker.

If sm wins it will officially open the recruiting for all public schools. Sm is simply trying to justify there slimy ways and has in an open foum tainted their previous success by the coach admitting he has brought 4 players to the team. Is this really what we want for high school football.

Just another lie. Please show where the coach admitted he brought 4 players to the team. I will be waiting.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
