11:47 a.m. Covert, “Mr. Layne I’m not questioning your integrity.â€

Layne interrupts, “yes you have.â€

11:46 a.m. Tommy Layne stands in the back of the room, visibly upset.

“This guy (speaking of Covert) here is questioning my integrity and my school’s integrity. All the involvement I had was to speak with Mr. Childress about what I had heard. If you want to question my integrity you can come here and do it any day of the week.â€

It's getting good

Layne is an idiot for not leving once he recused himself.

If he stayed there knowing that he would be drug into it, that was not very smart on his part.

He should have taken a coffee and funnel cake break.

It's just something else to shift the blame from themselves. Seq had lost to Bledsoe and with teams like Smith, CPA, Goodpasture in the playoff quad, a home playoff game is a longshot even as a possible runner-up. Everyone knows how the teams are doing as it's updated weekly, though there are upsets. There's no great advantage that could have known to be gained.

Tommy Layne just laid into the Signal representative, and Im glad he did shouldnt let anyone railroad him as a person or his school.

Funny Tommy Boy just contradicted what he had previously said.

"There are rumors out there that Sequatchie County turned them in. We did not," Layne said. "The first I heard about it was a comment from [TSSAA executive director] Bernard Childress at the administrators' meeting on Sept. 22."

Today it's

"All the involvement I had was to speak with Mr. Childress about what I had heard."

This is different than Childress making a comment to him. So yes now I am questioning his integrity.

You'd have to get him to clarify. It doesn't say when he spoke to Mr Childress. Again, trying to take away attention from SM's error-whether intentional or not, and it doesn't matter if it was Seq, ND, Baylor, SD, LFO or a parent. Mr Layne said it was not from Seq. If you think there is a conspiracy to move possibly as little as one playoff spot, maybe playing at Goodpasture instead of CPA (or Smith, etc), then go on believing that.

Do I think SM cheated? Not saying! Do I think the rules were clearly broken? Yes!

We all make mistakes in life but learning how to step up and accept the consequences for those mistakes is something that obviously not everyone is willing to do.

It's apparent that after today that SM is going to dump as much blame on others and/or stoop to insulting others.

SM is not a "victim" here. A rule was broken and therefore consequences should be accepted. See you in 2012 when you are actually relevant to the postseason picture.

It's also apparent they will have two less coaches after this is over.
