Here are next weeks matchups. Two of these teams are going to Chattanooga.

District 9 seemed a little weaker than previous years but still have quality teams. Fairview goes undefeated at 19-0-1. White House is playing their best soccer right now. Page had a rough outing in Chatty a couple weeks ago.

Predictions? Comments? Any chance when they get there?

10/25

9W Hume Fogg v. 10R Harpeth

10W White House v. 9R CPA

11W Page v. 12R Spring Hill

12W Fairview v. 11R Community

Speaking as a White House parent, I think these 8 teams still have a lot to prove. White House increased the level of difficulty of their schedule this season specifically to prepare for these next two weeks. They have definitely taken their share of lumps in the process. We will have to wait and see if it will pay off. I will say that the WH girls seem to be peaking at the right time.

As far as predictions go, I am picking WH over CPA, Hume-Fogg over Harpeth. Page over Spring Hill, Fairview over Community. White House takes region 5 over Hume-Fogg. Page takes region 6 over Fairview. Then WH and Page advance to state. Beyond that, it will take a herculean effort this year for anyone to knock off CAK.

There you have it...my kiss of death on WH...they will go out Tuesday......

Fairview will learn the lesson of undefeated teams in the past like Page, Greeneville, others. Teams gain nothing come state tournament time by playing cupcakes all year. I thought CPA was strongest team coming into state last year. It is interesting that like ND they are district runners-up. I wish I could see the White House CPA game. Should be fun to watch.

Looks like Fairview has begun the lesson. They lost 1 - 0 to Page and play winner of Hume-Fogg and CPA. Anybody know anything about Hume-Fogg?

CPA won 1-0. Regarding Hume-Fogg, White House handled them easily in regular season...but it was part of one of the weirdest score comparisons of the season....WH 4-1 over Hume Fogg, H-F beats Brentwood Academy 2-1 and BA beats WH 4-0.

The only other I can say about Hume Fogg is some of the parents need muzzles and/or lessons in class and decorum...We actually had to send parent escorts with some of our players to the restrooms during our match.

I find that hard to believe---since the bathrooms are no where near where the parents sit...The bathrooms

are at the end of the stands and out toward the street in a secluded sort of area...It seems to me people would be sent with the kids because it is near the street at Old West High School...Which has nothing to do with Hume Fogg's parents and fans...But, whatever...

Congrats to CPA, way to show you belong with the big teams in Chattanooga!!

I don't see how you can say Fairview learned its leasson. Page beat them 1-0 in overtime, hard fought game and both teams had shots to win it. They played CPA and got beat 2-0, with CPA scoring both goals late in the second half. Again, both teams had shots to win it. CPA is in the championship game so there is no shame in losing to them. Being a Page fan and seeing them play first hand they were a really good team and should not be bashed for their schedule.

Also, Fairview will return most of the team from this year. Against CPA and Page they had a junior, two sophomores, and a freshman starting on defense and both of their forwards are juniors. They should be tough next year as well.

Maybe some of the Chattanooga teams would like to travel to play some fo the middle TN teams instead of whining that they never play any one who is good and hiding out in Chattanooga playing each other.

I guess it takes ND losing for all the trolls to come out of hiding. Welcome back.

You must have missed an earlier post about Fairview's strength of schedule. The lesson is that if a team wants to do anything in the state tournament the coach needs to schedule appropriately. Fairview played cupcakes all year until the playoffs. Page learned this lesson after their undefeated 2009 season. They scheduled much better in 2010 and this year. CPA always has a good schedule as does White House.

Personally, I would love to go to middle Tennessee more, but we always go to Knoxville area and Memphis for the Rivals tourney. I guess our coach feels the team benefits from the Rivals tournament over what can be offered in Nashville.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
