Wanted to get everyone's opinions on who you think should get awards based on the district season.

District MVP- Al Cobb QB Giles Co.- Without him running that offense, the Bobcats would probably be a .500 team at best. He has put up great numbers each week.

Offensive Player of the Year- Trevor Irizorry RB Marshall Co.- Finished Top 5 in the midstate with over 1400 yards and 19 TDs. Teams have had trouble all season stopping him.

Defensive Player of the Year- Davey Maddox DL Marshall Co.- Unblockable all season, he could not be stopped.

Coach of the Year- Coach Turchetta Marshall Co.

Let's hear everyone else's opinions.

Irizorry is closer to 1500 yrds after last nights big game and would be in the top 5 in the state if they would stop putting in the kid from Mid. Heat that is 8 man football.

I thought those numbers looked off they didn't have his 300 plus yard, 6 TD performance last night. I changed the first post.

The defensive player of the year will be close to guy at Marshall County or Landon Graham #30 from Lewis. He has over 100 tackles this season. I think it is most in the district.

Offensive player of the year would have to be between #3 at Marshall or #21 for Lewis. He has over 1100 yards this season but if he didn't get hurt at Spring Hill he would have over 1300 yards. But i'm saying #3 would beat him in this award.

And i agree with Al Cobb being the MVP of the district.

I like all of these and especially the coach one b/c his first year with the team was 4-6 last year and slipped into playoffs and then this year he improved them to 7-3 storming into the playoffs

I also disaggree with the coach. I almost would say give it to Giles co. for beating Fairview

If it goes to OC it's not because of the Fairview win. It would be to the entire staff for overcoming the loss of 8 starters. Six seniors. Ask any coach what they would do if they lost 6 returning senior starters?

I would have to say Coach Tommy Rewis at Hickman. Thumped his 1st three games but bounced back to win 5 out of the last 7 and made the playoffs. Nice job.

    • Well personally I see us going 9-1 so that isn't doom and gloom to me , Most people are thinking 6-4. Bearden will be the possible loss but hoping not. I was very impressed with what I saw this spring.
    • the kid you are speaking about, played in JV games,  2H half Science Hill game, split time in Hardin Valley and Bearden and that was it.   The upcoming Senior RB was All Region as a Junior and is regarded by the media as one of the top running backs in East TN for 2024 season. Scouting services have him as a top 10 back in the state.  Something aint adding up with gloom and doom. Maybe he was hurt and not at spring practice when you watched?
    • It won't be long now, he gone.
    • Are you kidding me?  You are just trolling now.  The new head coach's qualifications would be volunteer coach at the Oak Ridge Boys Club?  C'mon man, you can't be serious.  You're trolling us.  Anybody working at Clinton High School has to be like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs at this point.  They are coming after anybody and everybody that had knowledge of what was going on.  This is about to get real ugly.  Only in Clinton.
    • So no way they can compete with the likes of McCallie or Baylor still then
