First round of the playoffs takes the Yellow Jackets to nearby Hendersonville to take on the 6 and 4 Commandoes. The Jackets come into playoffs also with a 6 and 4 record. We have won 3 of our last 4 games by the skin of our teeth. Hendersonville comes to the playoff as last year's state runner-ups. Who wins? Let the banter begin..........................

Hendersonville with Brown at the helm is a very formidable foe. I just think they pose too much of an offensive threat to the Yellow Jackets. I really thought Springfield would be a tougher opponent than what they have been. Especially these last few games. I would like to see Springfield win but I really don't think it is that close in the end.

Good luck to HHS. I think they (HHS) win by 14.

I agree SHS has under achieved this year. It started in Gallatin. I didnt think we could beat the Green Wave BUT I thought we would play you closer than we did. We have had games that should have been blow outs (for us) that turned out to be way closer than they should have. Our team is still too young and the program had gotten waaaaaaaaaaaaaay down. We get better by competing against quality teams. Hopefully, we will have a rematch in a week with the Green Wave. Although the outcome should be the same

I would say Hendersonville has the edge with offensive and defense.

For Hendersonville, Brown completes 60% of passes for 1300 yards and has a good receiver in Jarrell Adams and Tez Bryant. David Priddy has 567 yards on 82 carries for 6.9 average while Tez Bryant has another 440 on 79 for 5.6 and Believe Kabasu 335 on 60 for 5.6 out of well ran Wing-T attack.

Springfield QB has thrown for over 1500 yards but struggles with accuracy with their two big and speedy receivers. Receivers run slant routes well. Defensively, they have given up way too many points to go to next round.

I say Hendersonville by 2-3 touchdowns.

If Springfield plays mistake free ball I think they can hang with Hendersonville..I have seen Springfield twice and Hendersonville twice...I look for a high scoring game ...The edge goes to the Commando's at home...Good luck to both teams...

You are exactly right the problem is we have rarely played mistake free this year

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
