jake
With the rich tradition of BA, I would not even consider another coach before I offered George Quarles a pen and a blank check and made him turn me down. If he does turn you down, then BA and Gary Rankin need to hug and make up, because he can probably get you back to championship level... But Quarles is the best in the state at any level, bar none. BA's coach will have to be a man of faith who can lead the players in prayer, be a mentor of the Christian faith, uphold the BA mission as well as be a championship caliber coach. Not sure if Rankin or Quarles meet the 1st 3 requirments but they do meet the 4th. That is why BA should hire a AD 1st then pursue a head coach. oldbigredman
I agree with Shakinthefat. While they need a guy who can lead them on the field and win, they need someone who understands BA and its mission. I know there are a lot of good coaches out there; however, unless you have been a part of BA I don't think they will truly grasp its meaning and maybe someone would; however, after being burned by Potter I think the BA family wants to allow someone from within to take over. The best two cadidates are Jack Pittman and Floyd Elliott. They both have great football minds. Been coaching 25 plus years, the kids respond to them, they communicate and live by the BA's mission. I hope one of them gets a chance to take the relms.

baeagles1982
http://youtu.be/3sMVLdvtEJA Body, Mind and Spirit. Great example here. I should have pointed out what the link was about. It is an interview I found with Jeff Rutledge when he was playing for Bear Bryant. I posted it because I really like what he had to say and I think his outlook fits the mission of BA very well. Also be sure to read the link that Shakin posted, very good article.
baeagles1982
Here is another great example of someone who knows how to win. I don't know the man from Adam personally, but I was against the Potter hire five years ago and by doing some research, I am even more convinced now. If anyone has things to post about other candidates, I would like to see that too. I just want to see BA back where they should be. Ensworth and coach Bowers deserve alot of respect for what they have acheived. As I said before, we can't afford to miss on a pick again.... http://youtu.be/MWfAuR-yhSM
