If they cannot get a Head coach because of the staff issue... then

The best thing for Forrest to do is go out and hire an offensive or defensive coordinator from a 5A or 6A school... one that is ready to take a head coaching position, knows what it is like to work with a staff that is hired by someone else. also they will not have a staff built up so that may not be a problem.

If the decision has been made then the administration needs to be reprimanded by the director of schools for not posting the position. State law says all jobs must be posted unless being filled from within by a lateral move. The only in-house lateral moves would be turcheddar or Stocstill. Even if they know who they want the community deserves to have it posted to see who might truly be interested.

i was texted by two really good coaches that were planning on applying for this job, it would be a shame if they didnt post it to find out what they could get, the community of Forrest could really miss out!

I'm curious about this too. Do you have to post a coaching job if there is not a teaching position to be filled? How can you post it if there is no teaching position?

Yes in Marshall County all open jobs must be posted. A friend of mine who coaches at another school in Marshall Co said that it usually comes to her school email. She checked it this morning and said no email at all concerning this position. I really feel like the guy who has been hired is an excellentvcoach but I just wish that the Forrest administration would do things properly. I guess that's why they haven't won a conference title in football since the midpoint of Murrey Holtons career. I think it's been 25 years.

so i am guessing Coach Stacey resigned only as head coach and he will be staying on as a teacher? if that is the case then nobody would want that job except for a staff member of his. He is not thinking about the program if that is the case. that has problems written all over it...
