CPA in King of Bluegrass Tourney

CPA is playing in the King of Bluegrass Tourney in Kentucky featuring the top teams in Kentucky and several other top teams in the country.

They beat Pleasure Ridge Park HS - #18 in Kentucky polls last night, and play Orange Lutheran from Orange, Calif. Monday. Orange Lutheran is in the Top 50 in the national ESPN poll.

Jake Alsmiller had 5 3's in the win against PRP.

CPA outlasted the nationally ranked Orange Lutheran Lancers by a score of 70-64. CPA jumped out to an early nine point lead, 12-3 in the first quarter, but the Lancers answered with a run of their own to end the quarter leading 20-16. The teams were evenly matched until Orange Lutheran saw their biggest deficit as the Lions pulled ahead 54-44. The Lancers again closed the gap and with 47 seconds left in the game, Orange Lutheran's Gabe York (Arizona signee)was fouled on a made three-pointer and had an opportunity to tie the game with a made free throw. York failed to complete the four point play and the Lancers didn't see the lead again. Jalen Lindsey led CPA with 32 points and 9 rebounds. Gabe York led Orange Lutheran with 28 points and 4 steals.

CPA plays in the tourney semifinals Tuesday at 730pm.

Are you in Louisville? I think the game today is 9:00pm eastern against Ballard (#2 ranked team in KY).

Christ Presbyterian (Nashville, TN) defeated Ballard, 85-59 to earn their spot in the championship. There were seven lead changes and five ties early in the game, but the Christ Presbyterian Lions earned a seven point margin by halftime and never looked back. Ballard was held to only six points in the final quarter as the Lions cruised to victory. Christ Presbyterian was led by Jalen Lindsey with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Jake Allsmiller hit five three-pointers and ended the game with 19 points. Craig Bradshaw and Vic Wharton added 18 points each, and Wharton had 5 assists. Ballard was led by Quentin Snider with 16 points and 5 assists.

How did you get this info so fast? I have been trying to get news tonight, but it was nowhere online that I could find.

If they win tomorrow, they should be nationally ranked for the first time in school history.
