No one allowed to take pictures of sons on the floor

I heard a lot of irate parents who were not allowed on the floor voicing their disapproval after the finals. Has this always been the case, or is there some kind of contract with a photography group that disallowed anyone taking photos? I know of no other state that does this; even at the NCAAs people are allowed to take photos of medalists. Is it always about money?

In years past parents were allowed on the floor. If this has changed, I think it is totally wrong. If a contract has been signed, how wrong is it that some photographer makes money on your child's picture and you are restricted from the floor...... so wrong

Parents were allowed on the floor; however, they were to the side of the podiums and away. If you wanted a picture of your child on the podium, you would have had to take it from the stands. Not all cameras are that great when zooming in so it was probably difficult for some parents to get a good picture of their son. Also, it was very crowded. I can only hope parents were accomodating and letting parents up to the rail when it was their son so they could get a good picture.

Maybe they didn't want the Ryan fans to get close the the official from the 160 lbs match

as wrestler for 10 years, 3 middle 3 high school and 4 in college and over 25 years as an official all i can say is BS- I am sick and tired of fans complaining about the officials- when I competed we didn't have these boards nor did we have fans or coaches cry. I didn't have tech fans- men went out and kicked a--. stalling was never an option. quit crying, men wrestle and made 100% sure it never and i mean never came down to the official.

maybe if he wrestled like a man this board would have no post at all.

wrestling is for men.

I guess you consider yourself a "Real Man" by calling out a high school wrestler. From your post it seems that you are the only one crying. I apologize if I hurt your feelings.

    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
