MJCA looking for a coach

MJCA let their football coach go this past Friday, tough place to win but I understand that he was well liked and they were getting better. Anybody know what happened?

It is official just not in the papers yet. Texted coach over the weekend. Players and parents were in administration offices in an uproar all afternoon following the news getting out.

Not sure what happened at MJCA, but I have a buddy whose son goes to MJCS and a few parents are saying to bring back Townsend.

All anyone has heard is that it was a teaching issue not coaching, odd since he was teaching PE.

Coach Harrison was Teacher of the Year at Goodpasture and was a GREAT PE teacher. I happen to know how much he loves the students. No way it was a teaching issue unless he has changed a ton since he left Goodpasture.

I don't believe there was any real issue with his teaching or coaching. I honestly believe they change coaches every few years (except in Boys Hoops where the AD is the coach) just to buy certain folks a little more time in their own office.

That would make sense. Its too bad, Harrison is a great teacher and coach, its a shame he was only given 2 years and almost no help. Unless they start providing some in-school assistants for football, things aren't going to improve regardless of hire.

 

I'm curious what they'll do about spring practices, unless they already had a replacement lined up.
