Individually, Franklin High freshman Libby Sugg has 15 dingers (all on fields of 205-220), not counting 3 more she hit in pre-season "play-days". Not sure on the team total.

As of Friday, May 4 she was hitting .596 with 15 homers and 52 RBI in 32 games.

Those are impressive stats! Can't help but wonder about the pitching though. Beech run-ruled Franklin (11-1)and only allowed 1 hit in their matchup at Franklin Sonic Invitational. Still, 15 homers on 200+ fences shows real power no matter what kind of pitching. Congrats to her!

Beech is going to beat most teams in the state like that, that's a non-factor when determining a trend.

Franklin is just 4-9 in the games listed on here, can someone add their results or just list them here and they can be included. Need date, opponent, score and if it's a district game sometimes district opponents will play in non-district tournaments.

I saw a girl from Franklin hit a ball that barely went foul in Manchester. If it had not gone foul, it would have been an over the fence homerun on a 285ft field. Don't know which girl it was, but it was impressive.

Franklin is 14-19-2 and has played in the Brentwood, Franklin/Sonic and Coffee County Tournaments

Plays in District 11-AAA where they have played Ravenwood 3 times, Brentwood 3 times , Indy 2 times and Centennial 3 times

Franklin has played Dickson County twice, Overton once, Chatt Central once , Beech once , Pope John Paul II twice, Oliver Springs once, Knox Karns once,

I believe 15 home runs against that schedule is legit and it was Ms. Sugg who hit the 275 ft. foul ball in the Coffee County Tournament. Best thing about Ms. Sugg is that she is a Freshman :) and works hard everyday!!!

District 11-AAA Tourney going on now at Fly Park. Franklin plays at 4:00 on Tuesday 5/8

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
