It's not like they all picked up a baseball just 3 years ago. And they're the largest class AA school in the state by at least 100. They should be among the favorites in every sport.

Moving up after next year, and they where not the largest when they opened. Don't think number of kids in the school makes a hill of beans. Alcoa is 3a in football not many teams in 6a want to play them.

You're right they were not among the largest when they opened but they didn't have full classes in 9-12 either. By the time next season is over they will have been allowed to play AA in all sports well over the classification cutoff, for two seasons. The classification periods used to be two years, not four years as they are now, there's no reason they should go four years where teams like EH can be in a wrong class (through no fault of their own). A 1200 student school should be the favorite over schools with half that number, in general though there are exceptions like Alcoa football. And it's still not remarkable that it's a third year school having a strong baseball team unless the players had never played before high school.
