redkuda
Looks like this coach is getting out of dodge with all the talent that is graduating from there. Actually he has two little daughters, a newborn and a 2 year old that he get's no time with during half the year and he made the move primarily for them so he could have time with his family and also be closer to his dad to spend a bit more time with him. He will be an assistant at Tullahoma which is a good program and one of his friends from high school ball is the head coach there so it's a good fit for him. He could have probably had the Blackman job if he'd wanted and he has turned down at least 3 offers from triple A schools over the past 2 years. He will definitely be missed. He was a great influence on our boys at Eagleville as players and young men. He demanded their best and held them accountable (something a lot of coaches do not) for their actions on and off the field. He was also there to pick them up and to give them a pat on the back when they needed it as well. He worked extremely hard and the first year he was there he worked every fund raising event we had, every MTSU basketball game, football game, Vandy games when we did those, everything. He spent countless hours on building the facilities which are outstanding compared to where we were 4 years ago, not to mention the many hours of practice and preparation. We now have a beautiful field and a very stable program. From my understanding Eagleville has 6 transfers coming in and another 6 from middle school feeder schools other than Eagleville. We wish him the best and appreciate all of his efforts and the care for our boys. I think coach Tollett will find a good replacement for him who can continue the program. Out of the 12 seniors that graduated this year 7 were with him all 4 years. They will always have a place in the history of Eagleville's athletic programs. To the best of my understanding all of those seniors had a 3.0 or better grade point average and the majority if not all will be attending college and 4 or more of them with athletic scholarships and 8 or more with academic scholarships. redkuda
Eagleville's accomplishments under Coach Travis Moore: - 4 Consecutive trips to the Regional tournament - 2 District tournament championships, 2 runner ups - 1 regular season District championship - 3 consecutive Regional championships - 3 consecutive Sub-State/ Sectional victories - 3 consecutive State tournament appearances with an overall record of 5-5 - 1 State Championship appearance resulting in State runner-up award. - 3 finishes in the top 6 teams in the State in the single A class. (his first year in the regional semi Eagleville was up by 1 with 2 outs and 2 strikes on the last batter who hit a high pop up that was lost due to the time of day when it's between dusk and dark and fell in allowing 2 runs to score) otherwise there'd have been a chance at 4 Regional championships and 4 trips to sub-state) Pretty great accomplishment for he and his seniors this year. There were 5 of those seniors starting during their sophomore year in State.
wingman10
Travis is a good kid. Comes from great parents. He is going home. At Eagleville, he assisted with the football team. Travis taught special ed and that might be a problem in hiring a coach unless EHS has several job openings. They could ask Pipp to coach. Eagleville will always get transfers. StarRaider
Travis Holland (assistant to Coach Hawks at Oakland) is the new coach. Sounds like a good fit from his background.
