Rhea County @ McMinn

I'd say we're definitely capable of winning. McMinn is coming off a win against McCallie and we have a short week. Hopefully we can get the game plan in and things go flawless Thursday night. I sure wish we were playing Friday instead; this will keep some fans from being able to travel across the river because of work the next day.

Not sure how good RHEA is but I know how good McCallie is. McMinn will runaway with this one.

However, wish Rhea good luck would love to see an upset.

MC is good and only get better. They play til the whistle especially on D. That's why they get some late hit penalties. Don't know how good Thier qb is but handing the ball off to those backs can't be to hard. Rhea seems to be struggling the last few years. Is this the year they turn it around? Maybe but I don't think it will start against MC.

Rhea is much improved, I was very impressed with them against Powell. Very well coached and experienced, solid line play (offensive and defensive), excellent feature back, and a good decision maker at QB. Not a ton of star power, but a good "team". I still think McMinn comes out on top in this one, but don't sleep on RC.

If Rhea can slow down the two headed monster rushing attack for McMinn. Then this game is going to be very interesting. The out come of the this game rests on the fact of stopping the run. I mean when in the first two games you have ran the ball 105 times to 19 passing attempts. If Mcminn can't run it they are in trouble.

Good Luck guys, looking forward to a little Thursday nigh football.

In the boys game, Mr Basketball finalist Maliki Brooks from Union City is scheduled to compete. On the other side, the ultra talented AJ Morman will be defending the hometown turf one last time. West Tennessee Sports will livestream the two contests beginning at 4:50 pm Saturday.  The broadcast link is https://www.facebook.com/WestTennesseeS1. Stan Gerard will have the call of both games.

    • My honest prediction for us this year is that we will be slightly worse than we were last year. I hope I’m pleasantly surprised but I don’t see it happening. Lost some seniors who had been playing since day 1 as freshman. Lost a lot on the line. It will be an uphill battle for us. Hopefully we improve as the year progresses and maybe will have a dog in the fight by playoff time
    • With the loss of 5 players plus losing the 8th graders I can't see Greenback fielding much more than a 18 man team this year and if so the Sunbright game may be their only chance of a win from what I heard this morning.
    • Yes I think Fillies will be really good by end of season.  They are missing their Sr center right now who is a game changer and they are meshing all these freshman with three starting senior guards from last season.  Looking forward to seeing them get better and better.
