I don't think Smyrna is ready for Olive Branch yet...but they are getting there.

 

There isn't many schools who are ready for Olive Branch as they have the reputation of recruiting almost as bad as Hoover had. I have a good friend who's son went there just for that VERY reason. Freshman year, 6 foot 4 and 250 pounds. He has gotten bigger over the years also. He is also gone from there.

 

I got to admit I did try VERY hard to talk his Dad into moving to Murfreesboro so his and my son could play together. While I could care less if Rankin would have been pleased, it would have been a nice surprise for Coach Britton.

Why is there no 2012 roster on the Smyrna football site? Hard to know how young (or not) they are with no roster. And the last game report on there was from Oct. 2011. Are they trying to pretend this season isn't happening? Their current kids deserve better than that, even if they go winless. I'm starting to actually feel sorry for them. Maybe they will get that late season win over Ravenwood in the "how the mighty have fallen" bowl.

Easy Kettle! You just got caught recrutin, no big deal. According to you it happens all the time and everywhere. As for Blackman's recruting, I handle it and have made it very clear. I even released a DVD series on how too. As for the QB transfer I got his parents a nice house about a mile from the school. Nice place approx. 3500 square feet with a community pool.popcorneater.gif

funny we were saying the same thing about siegel 5 years ago, the only constant in this region is riverdale will always be good,

 

smyrna will be back to the top in 3 years, heck of a middle school team coming up, and they are young this year.

talent will rotate between blackman, siegel, smyrna, and oakland every year.

That is not a current 2012 roster. Those guys listed as 10th graders are in 11th grade unless they were held back and I seriously doubt they were - at least the ones that went to Rock Springs Middle, who should all be pretty good students with that type of background. Dr. Essary was pretty serious about kids getting educated over there. Edited by nrgrizzlies

      Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?

      Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
