A-AA State Tournament Thoughts

My predictions for the "blind" draw...and the logic that TSSAA isn't (LOL) using for the picks.

CAK

Notre Dame

(They've got to trim down the good East TN teams)

Sacred Heart

CPA

(First time in the tournament? Prove yourself.)

White House

CCS

(Typical rural public school vs. Private)

Elizabethton

Liberty

(The leftovers)

Bring on CAK, lets get it out of the way! They deserve all the credit until they are de-throned. Some love Big G

The best A/AA public school in the state for 3 years running finally gets their shot. I believe we just put a beat down on the only other team that could make that claim tonight.

Personally, we will play whoever the TSSAA gods put in front of us...

This is how I rank it right now:

1. Notre Dame (seems to be playing their best right now)

2a. CAK (close scores in normally blowout games seem to indicate uncharacteristic vulnerability)

2b. CPA (always well coached and prepared)

4. White House (newcomers with a chip on their shoulder and only public with talent to un seat the private chokehold on A/AA.)

5. CCS

6. Elizabethton

7. Sacred Heart (tempting matchup w/ White House.... aka Sacred Heart of Jesus VERSUS the Devils)

8. Liberty (somebody has to be #8)

Thoughts??

Agree with the rankings. If only they would use this system when setting the bracket. It seems every year we end up with a potential championship match in the first or second round.

Regardless...District 10 FTW!!!

BDP (until the tournament is over)

Well based on this, a good ranking IMO ,

Elizabethton 6 v CCS 5

CPA 2b v Sacred Heart 7

White House 4 v Notre Dame 1

Liberty 8 v CAK 2a

So if you believe the possible rankings bracketing.....thoughts?

1 always plays 8, 4 plays 5, etc, in the first round. But the draw is blind so no teams are ranked going in.

    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
    • I know the RB from OR he’s fast and has good hands. Is good on special teams also. Didn’t want to play defense over to the Ridge.
