A-AA State Tournament Thoughts

You think its 10 to 1 ratio of Public to Private? Then why isn't it 10 to 1 in the Play-offs? Probably because the multiplier is so fair? Private schools should play AAA or DII, in my opinion.

How many players on your team? I think I have some old medals and trophies I can send them. Another alternative is to build your program starting at your local elementary and middle schools.

The multiplier really has no affect other than football.

Its not 10 to 1 in the A-AA playoffs because the private schools have better soccer players than public schools do (that was easy). Most private schools are in urban areas and have access to CLUB SOCCER!!!!!!!!!!! AND THEY PLAY CLUB SOCCER you MORON!!!!!!!! Start your kids at u-9 or u-10 in CLUB SOCCER or start it in your rural area and you to can "BUY" a state title.

GEEEZ can you say Sour Grapes........

Wow, having an opinion makes you a MORON? I actually coach in my comunity soccer league teams from 6years old to 10 years old now, but for my kids to play club soccer they would have to drive 45 min. to get to the nearest team. Most public schools in urban areas, with the same access to club players, are AAA . So.....? Go to AAA?

We have had this debate over and over, and it boils down to the presence of or the lack of club players.

It's the investment in off season soccer, as well as the development of elementary and middle school programs.

Do the research. Teams that do well, in AAA, A/AA and in D-II have a majority of club players on their squads.

What happens in A/AA is that the public schools don't tend to have a higher percentage of the club players, while the private schools that compete in A/AA do.

Why don't the public schools try fielding a bunch of football players like we did when we won state 2 years ago. I don't think we had any club players. popcorneater.gif

Works for our boys team. We don't win state but we sure do win a lot more games just by adding athletes and teaching them the game. Doesn't hurt to have a nice physical presence on D either.

Yup. So maybe since there aren't many girls playing football, find ya some cross country runners, and basketball player as a goalie, and a softball catcher to play somewhere like stopper/sweeper to be an enforcer. icon_mrgreen.gif

Football drives everything.....women's soccer is not in the classification discussion in the athletic departments unless it is an all girls school.

However it is easy to see that things get more competitve in womens soccer when private schools move to DII - just look at the West and Nashville regions for proof.....

the good news - the discussion will continue for at least another 4 years! Out there somewhere in the public school arena, there is a father who is watching his 7th grade studdette score multiple goals in middle school. I feel for him - in about 24 months he will post his frustration only to rehash the same old posts....quite predictable unless she gets an "academic" scholarship to a private school!

.......I could go on and on, but every one else at Dekalb seems to be doing OK, actually outstanding......may not be the talent pool that is the problem with soccer(Booger Just Saying?).....Go to work, a soccer ball is meant to be handled 365 days a year, or at least 300 days.....if you are not willing to do that or motivate someone else to do that.....take up Barrel Racing

.....at one point, Booger or Mrs Booger drove Boogerette 1hr in each direction 2 nights per week for 3 months to get foots skills and believe me we sacrificed to do it.....Booger want explain why we chose to make that sacrifice because if you do not know why or can't surround yourself with people that do know why.....TAKE UP BARREL RACING

......multipliers or no multipliers, go to work. I actually think my daughters soccer ability is more than 1.8 times better than anyone else she plays against....Public or Private.....probably more like a 2.9....is this true, probably not, but Booger and her think so....I luv this sight and I luv soccer

BOOGER OUT!

No, an opinion doesn't make a person a moron, but having a moronic opinion does. So you Coach 6 to 10 year olds then continue the process into club, I DID, G does, CC step up and got alot of kids involved in club, Champs did nothing but had his wife take his daughter to club practices.....you get the point.....No imagine you don't.

But, to state that private schools in A-AA "BUY" state championships is not only an insult to those kids; who have done nothing but put in many hours of practice for many years, but also to their parents who have done nothing but supported their kids through out the years, and to the many Club coaches who coached kids regardless if they were private or public .
