Four players 6'3" or taller, that will be hard to match up with for most teams.

Anchoring the girls teams are returning senior post 6'4" Ruta Savickaite, from Lithuania, and Sophomore 6'6" post player, Ksenija Madzarevic, from Serbia. Fellow Serbians, 6'3" swing Teodora Zagorac and guards Milica Savic, and Jovana Stojanovic, are very strong guards that will receive collegiant attention as well. Two new Lithuanian juniors, guard Augusta Kievisaite and 6'3" forward Gerda Paulauskaite, will provide depth. Two senior guards from Nigera, Ima-Obong Akpan and Judith Nwosu, are strong, quick players who can shoot extremely well with good range. Junior point guard, Riesha Dean, from the Bahamas, is an aggressive defender who shoots the ball well. Rounding out the 2013 Lady Hawks is a Freshman transfer from Boyd Buchanon Destaneh Nichols. The Lady Hawks take on Tennessee traditional powers, GPS, Clarkrange, and McMinn Central this year. They will also participate in the Bradley Central Thanksgiving tournament.

Hamilton Heights lost at Clarkrange last night by about 5. It was a one point game with 50 seconds left and HH shooting a free throw, but there was a technical called on the HH bench that allowed Clarkrange to pull out. The HH girls seemed to have difficulty in the beginning of the game adjusting to the Clarkrange scrapiness and shooting, but soon adjusted. This was the first game any of the starters at HH played together. A few more games under their belt will greatly build their team cohesiveness. It was a great environment. The Clarkrange fans were loud but the entire school was extremely cordial to our players and fans. Every high school kid ought to have the chance to play in that kind of environment at least once. Kudos to Clarkrange

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
