"Rumor was misguided" Old Pirate says Lankford apparently quit the round ball team to focus on feuding!!!!! Sorry fellers, OP didn't mean to cause any fellers to hit the juice early... OLD PIRATE
Found out the truth. He quit basketball and started lifting weights for football full time Yep, recon he could have benefitted from the running in basketball cause it sure appeared to take him a long time to get into shape for feuding this year! Difference between him and Johnson is he thinks he should see the endzone every time he touches it. Johnson just matured into a great back. Maybe Lankford needs to do some soul searching. Recon so.....Lankford has a great opportunity headed his way and he has a HEEP of maturing to do & best learn the side lines aim't always the best path for positive yardage! OLD PIRATE
Old Pirate says with the coaching situation still up in the air it leaves us SP folkes a tad antsy. That be as it may, the 2013 team will have plenty of experience returning with 4 starting offensive lineman & several backups that saw extensive playing time. OP says the steady play of Stone & Johnson will be obvious focal points when feuding time starts. Looking at the play makers that the new coach will have are adequate, not near as good as recent years but show promise. The stamina of top players will play a major role in the teams success. With Lankford a key player, the Pirates have to have other players to become playmakers . Personally OP would love to see Fitzgerald at RB but the absence of a reliable QB leaves doubt that can/will happen unless a few rumors become reality. A Pirate backfield with Lankford, Mitchell (both have fumble problems), Fitzgerald and a capable QB would be scary. The Blevins younguns have to become additional play makers(both have shown to have good speed & hands). Dad burnit, sure wish us fellers knowd who the coach was going to be. Figure that would be a great Christmas present....... Santa.....you listening......you to coach Vic. Dad blame it, going to take a spell for OP to jest say Vic!
