You didn't hear me make an excuse about the WH game. We got man handled in the 3rd quarter. We had our chances to be in the game early but didn't take advantage. We got beat, plain and simple. East Nashville was a little different. many questionable calls one of which the coach got tossed and was later confirmed a terrible call. Looks like we might get to redeem ourselves though.

Herald-citizen, BAXTER — Upperman head coach Ben Herron kept a picture on his cell phone as a reminder.

In the 2011 season — Herron’s first as the Bees’ head coach — UHS traveled to Smithville and lost to DeKalb County 63-14.

The picture was of the DCHS scoreboard, citing the score of the game. By the end of Friday night’s 61-14 victory for Upperman, it was a reminder not of past failures, but how far the Bees have come.

And now, the third season under this current staff, the Bees went from back-to-back 1-9 seasons all the way to District 8-AA champions.
