Early predictions for 8-AA 2013

Whats everone's thoughts of 2013?

my thoughts:

1. Livingston- good line returning, Linder at runner back will be good, Great receiver will be a sophomore. Needs to find a signal caller. Jr. high has lost like 2 games in 5 years so plenty of tallent to move up.

2. Smith- Great running back Manning returning and like always lots of players and coached good. Also needs to find a signal caller and come up with a big time type defender wich they lacked.

3. Upperman- Great QB Conner York and 20 returning seniors. If true, rumors are a lb from Cookeville and best lb from Jackson county along with some kid from Florida has transfered into the program.

4. York- needs to replace breat backfield and spead they will lose. Great coach should have them back in the hunt for a playoff spot.

5. Macon- Rumor has it the long time Jr. High coach will take over who is like 26-2 in last two season. he should get numbers up and start macon back to better times.

6. Dekalb- Lost like 25 seniors and Jr. High is not setting the world on fire latley. Might take 3-4 years to get back to the level they were this year.

7. Cannon- Hopefully they can get a upset win somewhere in the schedule and at least keep games close for a half in the others. Anything is better than last year.

At this point and time I can't argue with you.

Well I wouldn't argue with this post except for one thing. Dekalb's Jr. High isn't doing anything lately? I guess crushing every team and only losing one game being to undefeated Macon isn't any good.

I am just saying, LA and Macon play for Jr high title about every year. Plus LA get some rickman kids. Upperman now gets half of new Jr high Prescott South. Just my take on it.

  • 2 weeks later...

Same smoke every year. Usually same teams. Lets add Upperman and LA in also.

I would say LA coach is there for at least 2-3 more years. uppermands coach is there for the long haul, borned and raised there. Maynard is not the best cach out there, but SC could do worse. I would just be happy with what you got at Smith

    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say the have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
    • Crazy how the thread just gets deleted when facts come out.
    • I understand I guess it depends on the school you are with and the time you want to put in.  It’s evident of the schools that don’t put in as much times.  I would say basketball players put in as much time as any sport in our school system and this is coming from a football town.  Bball is a longer season than other sports.
    • 7 Pages of complaining because the lacrosse team put removable lines on the field so that they could practice/play lacrosse  Y'all boys are bored huh lol
