Milan at CPA. The Rematch

I will be chatting with our Milan buddies on the other thread, so I would like to congratulate CPA on a great season! I've kept up with you guys from afar and had hoped both last year and this year to see you in Cookeville (no disrespect at all for Milan, just that I have family associated with CPA). My cousins already had laid out the plans for a world class tailgate in the event that they won, so now I'm going to have to crash some of the Bulldogs tailgates. I watched the game via internet last night and it was a physical struggle all night long. Both teams seemed to handle themselves in a manner that represented their schools well. As a supporter of another private playing in D1 I understand the issues CPA has to address in the court of public opinion, and of course I don't want get into all of that. But I was proud to watch how you handled yourselves and happy to read on this thread the positive comments from the Milan fans about the attitude of your fans, players and coaches. Keep up the good work and keep doing it the right way. :thumb:

They also had laid out a firework show for their victory last night....sorry we spoiled that for them also

We'll, you've got to be prepared. If you had of been thinking quickly you could have probably gotten a really good price on them right after the game :)

TSSAA stopped us from shotting fireworks a few years ago. It was a great game and CPA had a great team but the turnovers could not be overcome.

Ronnie Dunn, our neighbor to the east of the field, put on the fireworks to honor our seniors. He has a recording studio at the back of his property and we sometimes mess up his recording sessions with our events. Good luck FD, on Friday. Get ready for 29. I think he's still running through us.......

If you just look at the stats you would not think it was a close game but it was.

Fireworks were from neighbor Ronnie Dunn's home. Thanks for those.

I thought the poster was saying that you had a fireworks show prepared but didn't get to use it. We did fireworks last year just before the regular season finale against Alcoa. TSSAA relaxed their rules about fireworks after an appeal from Anderson County, but you MUST get all the proper permits or the Fire Marshal will be at your door on Monday morning with a nice fine. Thats cool that Ronnie Dunn did that for you all despite the outcome.

Very few teams could give up 4 turnovers in the second half of a semifinal game and have the ball on the one yard line with 1:30 to go with the chance to tie the game. A holding call moved the ball back to the 25 and Milan held from there. Seems like Milan was more prepared to start the game and executed in the first half. CPA did not adjust until mid 3rd quarter, but then had the offense and defense clicking. Turnovers were costly and drive killers.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
