thats what we were thinking but then u get to the same old thing why do u want to play someone in regular season that u would play in the playoffs since we both are in 4a now - seems like that would take alot of the fun out of playing someone whom u have just watched and not played during the reg season ! - just my 2 cents

Yeah, I get your point. I've just always enjoyed the South - Greeneville football games so much in the past. It is usually a good competitive game and both sides always bring a good crowd. Crawdad said that we were talking to a NC school as well.

Per the Greeneville Sun today:

Week 0: open

Week 1: at Mo West

Week 2: Chuckey Doak

Week 3: at Jefferson Co.

Week 4: at Claiborne

Week 5: Harlan Co. KY

Week 6: Grainger

Week 7: Signal Mountain

Week 8: at West Greene

Week 9: open

Week 10: at Cumberland Gap

Still looking for 10th game in week 0 or week 9.

My concern with playing out of state teams is that it gives you a zero and can hurt you in the win loss column come playoff seeding time. Its a zero even if you win. Why would one play an out of state team if it is just like playing 9 games instead of 10

You are wrong there. All games count. If you play a team from KY it counts as a win or a loss & it goes toward your strength of schedule if they finish 500 or better.

Sequoyah has had a opening come up for either week 5 or 8. I know many will say its not much competition, but the Chiefs have been to the playoffs the last three years and will have 28 seniors returning, maybe drop the out of state game?
