Walker Valley gives Soddy tough match

i was at the match last night and I have followed Soddy Daisy sports forever, and yes we had 3 starters out Jonah Smith(132), Josh Deckleman(138) and Tyler Hixson(195) who have all wrestled great this past weekend. also we have two kids descending to 113 that were both state qualifiers last year in Austin Houser and Adam Brewer that will have a three way battle with Mason Blevins. Not to mention Austin Williamson who was 5-0 over the weekend. And Austin Goins is hurt, but will be back and maybe at one of our heavier weights.

Caleb Langford is in decent to his weight at 138, he will be in the line up this week. M Langford will be in the line up after Christmas. A little bird told me this (not BCB, even though he fits the description).

That was my best guess,,,guys working on their weight on both sides of the mat....regardless,,,looks like WV really showed up...good stuff! (I need to get me a few of those little birds it sounds like)

Jonah smith didn't wrestle as well for Soddy. As for WV I believe Caleb was held out bc his weight decent wouldn't allow him to make scratch quite yet, as for Micah I haven't heard about him even competing yet.

Almost certain Deckelman will be descending to 132, yet that is just one piece of the puzzle,,,,so not sure about where everyone will be 2 weeks from now...? Nevertheless; thank you very much for this update,,,that helped me understand a few things I wasn't sure about..... If Goins can come back healthy before Feb,,,things will get very interesting

This is what is wrong about weight decent; it keeps kids from wrestling and hurts the team. Anyone who has wrestled knows the one hour weigh-in penalizes any extreme weight loss practices.

Not into moral victories, but WV is making progress. Could become another strong TN program, we need more of them.
