And here l thought Ron Martin put the TC bitterness in Carthage, my bad

Blubellz.....dear.........The Ron Martin deal wasn't ( in my mind) a Satterfield deal directly. At that time SC and TC were both highly rated in the state (1974) as I remember. TC knew every play when it was called, even before it was called. The only time SC got ANYTHING was when the back up QB called his on play,,,,,,not the one Martin called. Of coare he was pulled from the game. SC lost 50-0 I believe. That same week Martin was driving a new Monte Carlo from Cunningham Kelly. Coincidence?? Maybe, but I have my suspicions. Ask Snowy to give his uncle's ( THE Ductman) version of it. lol. The Satterfield deal was 2008. SC had beat TC in 2006 35-0 and 2007 35-0. In 2008 TC got up pretty good on Sc. SC's QB (#7) was tackled on the TC sidelines. The ole DOC, (according to some players and the QB) cussed him and spit. The yapping can be seen on tape and the spitting motion. I don't know if it was just spitting or spitting at/ on or whatever. The DOC DID apologize to the QB's parents.....so it must have some merit. Anyway, that's water under the bridge. I liked playing TC myself. I understand why they don't , more than the reason I just gave. .

Sounds like tc is or was a real class act.

Just about every place has it's past. That is in the past. Time to look forward.....who's our next coach. Harville, Dickerson, Goolsby, Loftis, Shoulders, are the ones I'm pretty sure have applied. Not sure about anybody else. I kinda like the sound of Dobbs,,,,,but know nothing about him. Loftis and Shoulders have gotten a lot from a little. Harville and Dickerson know the program. And with 30+ applicants the decision may be difficult. Surely somebody has a few names to toss out.

Watson has been a head coach 1 year.....I can't remember where. Young guy. He played his sr year at MC in the early 2000..maybe around 2004?? Goolsby played at SC on the 1st semi team in 1984. Coached at SC assist.-MC assist.-Watertownassist. -head coach at MC and back to Watertown assist.. I could be wrong, but close.

    • That’s a good line. Wins would be Soddy, Howard, and Ooltewah. Maybe East Ham again or Knox Central. Tyner maybe but being that late in the year it’s hard to say. I don’t think we get by Red Bank this year.    Rhea could be anywhere from 2-8 to 6-4.
    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
    • during the 2nd round of the playoffs last year against Milan, Gray partially tore his meniscus. He had a minor repair around Thanksgiving. Recovery time was minimal and he has been full force for baseball this season.
    • What do ya’ll think the O/U will be? I would set the line at 2.5
    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
