FBGIRL
I have heard talk the 12AA teams may not play CPA in basketball, which will be interesting if it plays out that way. Now back to the game tonight Congrats to both squads as Cheatham Co. has had a heck of a year. Talk all pre season was 10AA would not play them either but they all did and two 10AA teams going to state.Better competition helps both teams in the post season. Great Post, I agree 100% - every team that played CPA got better because of it
MrTSSAA
Well Well... I was right and I was wrong... Liberty got beat, but Cheatham did as well... I was at the CCCHS/East game last night... CCCHS has/had the better team on paper, but East had a much better game plan and Cheatham simply got outcoached... East never looked to shoot outside, but for whatever reason Cheatham continued to put pressure on their guards up top creating driving lanes for a team that looks to drive, thus resulting in multiple easy looks at the basket... That along with a good defensive scheme from East lead to a victory... Tough loss for the Cubs, but you have to win to move on...
ksgovols
I know the last team from 11AA to go to state was Waverly. Was in 88 or 98? It's been too long. There's some pretty good basketball played inside the district, but it has not translated to success in the post season for whatever reason. Now that TSSAA has blown up the district it'll be Waverly, Creekwood and Camden's district to lose 9 years out of 10. Same for Cheatham, Sycamore and Harpeth in the new 9AA. The old 11AA rivals won't have to meet until the substate round in the future if they can make it that far.

frankiegail
I am so proud of these boys! They have played so hard all year. They should hold their heads high and be proud. They are the district 11AA champs and the region 6 AA champs. What a year!!! Way to go Cubs!! Proud mom of #50!!!
howdoitknow
yea really rolled by Waverly by 3 & 9 points. And to borrow a quote from your very own Joey enjoy baseball season. Ricky I noticed that you didn't post on the Region 6-AA thread after Cheatham County beat both Giles County and Spring Hill. After last night's game you come out of the wood works and start posting again. Don't you even question me about morals on here again because you ran and hid when the Cubs proved you wrong last week. At least PrimeXTime44 stayed on here and continued posting after his bold prediction went south during regions. He didn't run and hide like you. I told you I would be here. I told Ned that I would be here as well. I'm not leaving nor am I afraid to admit when my pick is wrong. The Cubs lost last night. East Literature was a better basketball team. They made the plays when they counted down the stretch. This is exactly the same case as when I said TIME AND TIME AGAIN that Cheatham County was a better basketball team than Waverly. You argued that with ignorance but the fact is that the Cubs made plays when they counted and beat Waverly twice. That makes them better. Although I don't post on the baseball forums I will enjoy baseball season. I hope to see improvement from the Cubs baseball team in the spring. They've already owned the district in both football and basketball. It's been a great year of athletics at CCCHS.
howdoitknow
Nice. Are you the guy that holds up the Chevy sign? Stay classy. Since we're all on a first name basis now Keith I'll let you know that nobody held up a Chevy sign at a game this year. A kid at CCCHS made a sign however it was taken down before the games even started that evening.
howdoitknow
Ha ha Yes I agree! 78-54 is pretty funny now that I think of it!
howdoitknow
Howdoitknow2 has been awful quiet since the game is over. Congrats to Cheatham on a great year! I posted last night after the game and will continue to post. I don't run and hide when my predictions are proven wrong like Ricky did last week. The Cubs lost to an East Literature team that was simply better last night. I have no excuses. Coach Fey and the Eagles players deserve all of the credit in the world. I'm not afraid to eat crow on here so serve as much of it as you want.

Better competition helps both teams in the post season. Yes, talk which was started by a poster outside the district from what was talked about at summer camp. There is a long road to travel between a coach’s desire and an administrative decision. Plus, it became a mute point once new districts were created. Not all coaches are happy to play CPA for the “team improvement†benefits under the present conditions. A level playing field far outdistances any other aspect. Certain things are merely accepted since no power to make change. Course may have a better idea once we see how many 10-AA teams will continue to play CPA.
