This in my opinion was a big mistake, they should of hire the OC from CCHS or anyone else heck. This guy got the job cause he played pro ball and his wife pulled some strings for him since she is the head principal at Pearl Cohn. They won't win 10 games in three years. He has no coordinator experience and no coaches wanna stay there and help. This transition will be eye opening

SSDD.. Quality coaches usually don't have a chance in metro.. Just be a former Titan and it doesn't matter how long you have coached or if you have coordinator experience or not you will get a head job.

Just because some of these guys played at the highest level doesn't mean they can coach. You have to be able to break it down and simplify things, especially for metro teams. Outside of Overton/Hillsboro/East Nashville/Antioch/Cane Ridge/Maplewood the rest of the the teams in metro just aren't well coached IMO.

I guess the way to solve this is just hire more ex titans.

Are quality coaches not applying for these jobs?

Yes, quality coaches apply for these jobs all the time. Principals who are football experts make the call on who to hire (haha). Then they provide these quality coaches with the very best in support, facilities and resources (HAHAHAHA).

Honestly, there are really only a few truly good Head Coaches in Metro right now. The rest are either average at best, or they are coaching in programs that are so limited in resources that they have no chance.

Deadly who do you think are some of the better coaches in metro? I agree it's a very short list IMO

    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
    • Dorian Eskridge had a great Junior year, highlighted by a great game to lead HVA to an upset win at OR that year. I think that was 2010. In 2011 OR won at HVA. OR had a real good QB that year l think. Dorian Eskridge had a great senior year also. He always played hard from the DCM videos l saw.
    • It seems we lost a ton to graduation. We shall see how it shapes up for 2024.
